The award is meant to encourage the creative spirit of the journalism team, and at the same time recognize and express gratitude for the contributions of journalists in the construction and development of an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity; affirm the role of the press in spreading good values to the community; contribute to realizing the strategic action statement of the industry: "Culture is the foundation - Information is the conduit - Sports is the strength - Tourism is the connecting bridge".
After nearly 4 months of launching, as of August 10, 2025, the Organizing Committee has received 1,040 press works submitted to the contest from central and local press agencies. Through the preliminary round, 927 works were eligible for consideration and 122 best works were selected for the final round.
At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 5 types of journalism including: Print, electronic, radio, television and photojournalism. Each type includes 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, 5 third prizes, 10 consolation prizes and 3 collective prizes for press agencies with many quality works.
In addition, the “Vietnamese Inspiration” category – awarded for the first time – honors 5 groups and 1 individual with outstanding contributions to creating and spreading the good values of Vietnamese culture. This award is considered a symbol of the “soft power” of culture – the power to touch hearts, arouse aspirations and affirm the Vietnamese spirit in the new era.
Participating in the Third National Press Award "For the cause of developing Vietnamese Culture", Dak Lak Newspaper and Radio and Television won an Encouragement Prize with the 4-part series "Preserving and promoting the cultural values of ethnic minorities: "Awakening" traditional values" by the group of authors Thuy Hong - Hoang Tuyet.
The work highlights the strengths of Dak Lak province - a land rich in historical, cultural and revolutionary traditions, where many tangible and intangible cultural heritages are preserved. However, due to the exchange and import of foreign cultures, some traditional values of ethnic minorities are at risk of losing their identity.
Faced with that situation, over the years, the Party, the State and local authorities have always paid attention and devoted many resources to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of ethnic groups. Many traditional cultural values and typical cultural heritages of the ethnic communities have been inherited, preserved, embellished and promoted.
With efforts to preserve, conserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, many traditional cultural values have been gradually restored, creating a driving force to promote socio-economic development and maintain local defense and security.
