Lao Cai: Many attractive activities at "Winter Festival - Colors of the Highlands 2025"

(CLO) From November 14 to November 23, 2025, the Winter Festival "Colors of the Highlands" will be held in Bac Ha commune (Lao Cai province) with many unique cultural, sports and tourism activities, promising to bring visitors unique experiences in the middle of winter in the highlands.

According to the Office of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, the main activities of the "Colors of the Highlands" Winter Festival will take place at the Bac Ha Commune Central Stadium, Bac Ha Cultural Market, Hoang A Tuong ancient mansion and other tourist attractions in the area.

On November 15, the program officially opened with the weekly horse racing competition - a unique cultural highlight of the "white plateau" and the Ethnic Costume Contest.

On November 16, visitors will experience the "Heritage Journey" through Bac Ha Cultural Market, Hoang A Tuong ancient mansion and Ngai Thau hill with majestic and poetic natural scenery.

Next, on November 22, visitors continued their journey to explore and experience Bac Ha Buffalo Market to witness the unique traditional activities of highland life.

At the same time, you will have the opportunity to participate in the culinary contest "Bac Ha ethnic dishes"; witness the competition of racehorses in the horse racing final round and the closing night honoring the best performances, dishes and ethnic costumes.

The Winter Festival “Colors of the Highlands” aims to introduce and promote unique winter tourism products of Bac Ha and the highlands of Lao Cai province, contributing to attracting domestic and foreign tourists to attend, while contributing to preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, especially the traditional Bac Ha Horse Racing Festival recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage.
