Previously, units of Brigade 146 - Naval Region 4 Command stationed on the islands of Truong Sa, Da Tay, Sinh Ton, Song Tu Tay... in Truong Sa special zone proactively implemented many measures to prevent, combat and respond to storm No. 13.

Before and during the time when typhoon Kalmaegi passed through Truong Sa special zone, officers and soldiers on the islands coordinated with other forces to guide nearly 300 fishing boats with more than 3,400 fishermen to dock in the harbors and reservoirs to anchor according to technical procedures, ensuring safety and avoiding collisions or damage caused by wind and waves.

Units on the island not only provided places for resting and living during the storm, but also provided 218 m³ of fresh water, 50 boxes of instant noodles, 200 kg of rice, 300 kg of vegetables and fruits, and dozens of boxes of fish, meat, and canned and bottled fish sauce for nearly 500 fishermen.

Along with giving gifts to many fishermen, the organization propagated the serious implementation of measures against illegal, unreported, or unregulated fishing (IUU)... to soon remove the "yellow card" of the European Commission for Vietnamese seafood. Brigade 146 also directed the island commanders to urgently review and support fishermen to continue going offshore, sticking to the sea to exploit seafood, contributing to the socio -economic development of the country.
