Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee requested the People's Committee, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, the advisory and assisting agencies of the Party Committee and the Party committees and affiliated Party organizations to regularly and closely monitor the developments of storms and floods; focus on directing and urging the timely implementation of plans to prevent, combat and respond to storm No. 13 (international name: Kalmaegi).

The Commune Party Committee requested units to proactively inform, propagate and promptly warn people about the risks of storms, heavy rains, floods and landslides; at the same time, regularly monitor and update the storm situation, especially the water level in lakes, dams, streams and irrigation works in the commune to have timely handling and response measures.
Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13, on November 5-6, the leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committee of Pong Drang commune and the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue of the commune inspected and reviewed areas at risk of landslides, flooding, low-lying areas and lake and dam systems in the area. Thereby, proactively deploying response plans, ensuring the safety of people and property before the storm makes landfall.

Currently, in Pong Drang commune, there is heavy rain and strong winds, many roads have fallen trees. Local authorities have directed relevant forces to promptly trim and clear up fallen trees, in order to minimize the risk to people's lives and property when storm No. 13 continues to affect the area.
The People's Committee of Pong Drang commune recommends that people limit going out from the evening of November 6, reinforce houses, ensure electrical safety, promptly evacuate from low-lying and landslide areas, and proactively respond according to the "four on-site" motto to minimize damage when the storm makes landfall.
