At 7:00 p.m. on November 6 , according to SGGP Newspaper reporters, at the Quy Nhon coast ( Gia Lai ), the wind began to calm down, and people went out to check their houses and the initial damage.

A restaurant was destroyed by a storm in Quy Nhon Nam ward.
In the residential area along An Duong Vuong Street, many houses, shops, and buildings were destroyed by the storm and had their roofs blown off. On Luong Dac Bang Street, many houses and shops were destroyed by the storm, with two shops completely destroyed.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Vy (35 years old, in Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province) said that his shop was devastated by the storm. “At around 5 pm, I was in the shop to secure and protect my property. At that time, the wind was so strong that it blew everything away, the pillars of the house were lifted up high. I only had time to run outside before the whole shop collapsed. After returning, the shop was completely blown away, only some broken iron frames remained. The property worth nearly 1 billion VND invested was now considered empty,” Mr. Vy said sadly.

Devastation after storm number 13 made landfall
Similarly, Ms. Le Nhu Thanh Thuy (Quy Nhon Nam ward) worriedly said: “This is the first time I have seen a storm with such strong winds. My restaurant was severely damaged by the storm, and many other people also suffered great damage. If this wind continues, everything will be devastated.”


Many roads, trees and structures collapsed.
Before that, at around 6:30 p.m. , in Quy Nhon ward, the wind blew continuously, many corrugated iron sheets were blown and collided, creating a loud explosion. Mr. Tran Van Hoan, a local resident, said in shock: "I have never seen such strong wind. The wind and rain lasted for more than an hour. The storm did not come until 8 p.m., but the wind was so fierce, the whole family was terrified. I don't know what will happen when the storm comes."
At the Forward Command Center, a representative of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee said that storm No. 13 has very complicated developments, with strong winds often alternating with calm periods, so people absolutely must not be subjective. The functional forces are on duty, checking locations at risk of being unsafe to promptly respond.
At around 7:00 p.m. , in the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 13, the police force of Bien Ho commune (Gia Lai province) quickly arrived at the house of Mrs. PTM (born in 1950, residing in village 8, Bien Ho commune) to take her to a safe shelter. It is known that Mrs. M. is paralyzed and lives alone in a seriously degraded house, with the roof and walls at risk of collapsing at any time. When heavy rain and strong winds swept through the area, the police force determined that the risk was very high, so they urgently moved Mrs. M. to a safe temporary shelter.
Bien Ho Commune Police recommend that people regularly monitor weather information, proactively reinforce their houses, and promptly notify local authorities when discovering houses or structures at risk of being unsafe, to ensure the safety of life and property from the effects of storm No. 13.
At 8 p.m., the storm returned, continuing to howl for a long time. Mr. Cao Thanh Thuong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Gia Lai province, said that the provincial forward command is still maintaining and monitoring the complex developments of the storm. "Currently, the storm is gusting strongly and complicatedly. Military forces, police and armored vehicles have been mobilized to support damaged and collapsed houses," Mr. Thuong quickly informed.

Waves swept away many fishing boats in De Gi lagoon.
By 9:50 p.m. on November 6, in the coastal city of Quy Nhon (Gia Lai province) – the place that directly faced storm No. 13, the wind gradually decreased in intensity. After the storm, many urban areas of Quy Nhon became devastated, trees, buildings, houses, architecture... fell, collapsed, and were damaged.
In Quang Ngai , initial statistics show that 50 houses had their roofs blown off or were damaged in Long Phung, Ba To, Ba Dinh, and Ngoc Linh communes; one school in Ngoc Linh commune also had its roof blown off.
According to the Dak Lak Provincial Front Command , there have been preliminary statistics of damage in the eastern communes after storm No. 13 passed. About 20 houses had their roofs blown off and collapsed. Among them, 1 person died and 1 person was injured due to the collapsed house. Currently, the local government and functional forces are urgently counting and supporting people to overcome the consequences.
In a quick exchange with SGGP Newspaper reporters, a leader of the People's Committee of De Gi commune (Gia Lai province) said that during storm No. 13, high tides and waves swept away many fishing boats anchored in De Gi lagoon.
According to local residents, the incident occurred at around 9:30 p.m., when storm No. 13 made landfall, affecting communes and wards in the east of Gia Lai province. From the clip recorded by local residents, it can be seen that many fishing boats were swept away by large waves in the middle of De Gi lagoon, including one fishing boat that was sunk.
At Ly Son Special Zone (Quang Ngai Province), at 3:00 p.m., in order to save people, 2 people used a basket boat to rescue and brought the victim onto the basket boat, but due to big waves and strong winds, all 3 people were drifted away. Transport ship VT0035 organized a search but due to big waves and strong winds, it had to temporarily stop. By 7:30 p.m., the 3 people were still not found.
On the evening of November 6, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son Special Economic Zone (Quang Ngai province) said that the wind speed in the area has decreased to level 6, gusting to level 7-8. However, the locality is facing a situation of rising sea levels, causing flooding in many coastal residential areas.
“The high tide rose more than 4 meters in Tay An Hai village, flooding about 500 houses. Some fences and glass door systems of residents' houses were broken,” Mr. Huy informed. Storm No. 13 caused big waves, strong winds, and high tides in Ly Son Special Economic Zone.
Currently, functional forces and local authorities are focusing on supporting people to overcome damage and ensure safety of people and property.
At 10:40 p.m. , Mr. Pham Xuan Quang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mang Ri Commune, Quang Ngai Province, said that the storm had collapsed the wall of a house in Ko Xia 2 village and blown off the roof of a house in Tu Tho village; causing power outages in 12/31 villages.
