After working with Petrovietnam leaders, on the afternoon of November 8, Ho Chi Minh City Party Secretary Tran Luu Quang and the working delegation of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee took a ferry from Vung Tau to Can Gio to survey the Can Gio coastal urban tourism project built by Vingroup.

Petrovietnam "volunteered" to do a clean water project for people in Thanh An island commune.

At the working session with Ho Chi Minh City leaders on the morning of November 8, the Chairman of Petrovietnam's Board of Members proposed implementing a project to provide clean water to the people of Thanh An island commune.

Sharing about this, the Secretary of the City Party Committee said that Thanh An island commune is not large but the population is close together. In the context of the country's clean water target being very high, he could not help but be surprised that Ho Chi Minh City, a large center, still has an area without clean water. As soon as his opinion was asked, the Secretary of the City Party Committee gave the policy to do it immediately.

Attending the survey with the City Party Secretary were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Quoc Phong, Deputy Secretaries Dang Minh Thong and Van Thi Bach Tuyet, along with leaders of the City People's Committee and departments.

According to Saigon Giai Phong newspaper, the working group listened to the investor and construction unit report on the project progress. Departments, branches and local authorities also informed about related tasks.

Representatives of investors and construction units also proposed a number of difficulties and problems that need to be supported and resolved by Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the survey, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang requested investors and contractors to speed up the project's construction progress to ensure the set schedule.

He also noted that departments, branches and local authorities should proactively coordinate closely with investors throughout the entire project implementation process. Quickly resolve administrative procedures, create the best conditions for infrastructure connections and investment environment.

Can Gio - from a single road to an infrastructure center

Can Gio, a remote and isolated land of Ho Chi Minh City, is transforming itself with sea-encroaching urban areas and a series of super infrastructure projects.

In particular, the Vinhomes Green Paradise coastal urban area is gradually forming its urban foundation after 6 months of construction. With a scale of more than 2,870 hectares and an expected population of about 230,000 people, the urban area is positioned as an ecological - smart - resort city that meets international standards.

The traffic axes to Can Gio are being comprehensively expanded in the direction of multi-modality - regional connectivity. In particular, the 350km/h high-speed railway from Ben Thanh to Can Gio will increase connectivity with travel needs, as well as the Ho Chi Minh City metro network. When completed, people can reach Can Gio beach in just 20 minutes, instead of nearly 2 hours as at present. The project is expected to start construction in 2025 and be completed in 2028.

In parallel, Can Gio bridge is completing documents for early implementation, while the traffic intersection project connecting Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway with Rung Sac road (total capital of nearly 2,970 billion VND) is expected to start construction in early 2026. When this intersection is put into operation, people from the West and Southeast can go straight to Can Gio via Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 - Ben Luc Long Thanh expressway - Rung Sac road to get to Can Gio faster.

The Can Gio - Vung Tau sea route is also being studied with the expectation of being a very important link of the coastal route of Ho Chi Minh City, starting the journey to connect the coastal route from the Central region through Ho Chi Minh City to the Mekong Delta.
