Secretary Tran Luu Quang: Ho Chi Minh City will accompany Petrovietnam

In Ho Chi Minh City, Petrovietnam (PVN) currently has 20 member units operating in production, business and investment, actively contributing to promoting the city's economic development.

Ho Chi Minh City accompanies Petrovietnam

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang affirmed that with the spirit of working together with the whole country, for the whole country, Ho Chi Minh City is committed to accompanying PVN in the city's development, contributing to the development of the whole country and considering PVN a strategic partner.

Ho Chi Minh City has a pillar development sector which is marine economic development, focusing on energy and logistics.

The Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee highly appreciated the contributions and aspirations of PVN in the country's development, not only in terms of economy but also energy security, gradually building a stronger, more sustainable, friendlier country and a better life.

"The specific contribution of PVN to the city's development is about 19% of GRDP and about 15.8% of budget revenue," the Secretary said, adding that PVN's great contributions come from the efforts and intelligence of many PVN officers and employees over many generations.

Secretary Tran Luu Quang agreed with PVN's recommendations on the principle of having new ways of behaving, new ways of handling, with priority order and within the authority of the city... Because according to him, the city does not have enough time to do everything right away, it needs to prioritize bigger things.

In addition, Mr. Tran Luu Quang also agreed with the 5 pillars proposed by Petrovietnam in cooperation with the City, including: building Ho Chi Minh City into a smart city; green development and clean energy; forming a clean supply chain; developing a marine technical service center and an innovation ecosystem.

Contribute to the growth and budget revenue of Ho Chi Minh City

Petrovietnam's units are operating and managing a series of key industrial facilities such as the Nam Con Son gas system, LNG and LPG warehouses, Dinh Co Gas Processing Plant, Phu My Fertilizer Plant, Vietnam NPK Plant, petroleum port warehouse system, offshore oil and gas projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau... creating a closed, modern production - distribution chain.

Thereby contributing significantly to promoting the industrialization and modernization process and forming high-quality energy - petrochemical - technical service industrial zones in Ho Chi Minh City.

In addition, Petrovietnam also makes important contributions to the city's growth and budget revenue, ensuring sovereignty and security on sea and islands, developing science and technology capacity, innovation, training, attracting and developing high-quality human resources, creating jobs, improving income and social welfare...

During its formation and development in Ho Chi Minh City, Petrovietnam has always received close attention and direction from the City Party Committee and People's Committee, along with effective coordination from departments, branches and sectors.

The city has focused on resolving issues of planning, land, investment procedures, and administration, creating favorable conditions for Petrovietnam and its member units to carry out production, business, and scientific and technological research activities.

"These are very important factors, helping Petrovietnam and its member units operate effectively, achieve high results in recent times, and at the same time create a solid foundation for sustainable development orientation in the coming period," said a Petrovietnam representative.

Petrovietnam said the working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee was an opportunity for the two sides to evaluate the results of cooperation over the past time and agree on strategic coordination directions in the coming time.

Aiming to build Ho Chi Minh City into the country's center of industry - energy - innovation. At the same time, realizing Petrovietnam's development vision according to the motto "pioneering - superior - sustainable - global".

Inauguration of BK24 wellhead platform

Within the framework of the working session, Petrovietnam and the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro held the inauguration ceremony of the BK-24 wellhead platform, a project to welcome the 14th National Party Congress.

The BK-24 project is part of the Bach Ho field development plan, Block 09-1 (adjusted in 2024 - Southwest area), including the BK-24 wellhead platform (uninhabited) and the connecting bridge to the BK-20 platform.

The project started in early February and by September 14, the BK-24 superstructure had been completely installed on the base, completing the main structure and entering the connection and sea trial phase.

On October 11, Vietsovpetro officially received the first commercial oil flow from the BK-24 rig with an initial flow of more than 400 tons/day and night at well 24001, 65 days earlier than planned.
