Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang and leaders of the City Party Committee, Committee and departments and branches attended.
In phase 1A of the Block B&48/95 and Block 52/97 Gas Field Development Project, the main construction items deployed include: 1 central technology platform (CPP); 1 housing platform (LQ); 1 flare tower (Flare Tower); a bridge system connecting the CPP platform with the LQ platform, the wellhead platform (AQWA) and the flare platform; 1 wellhead platform (WHP); 3 gathering platforms (HUB) and 1 condensate storage and export vessel (FSO) to receive condensate from the CPP platform, store and export to oil tankers. These projects form a synchronous complex, ensuring the ability to collect, process and transport gas from Block B field to shore, serving the gas power plants of the O Mon Power Center.

The Central Technology Platform's superstructure base is a particularly important item in the overall project. The item has a base weight of about 7,400 tons and piles of about 5,700 tons, manufactured at the PTSC Technical Logistics Service Center by PTSC M&C, a member unit of PTSC Corporation. The total value of the project is about 3,300 billion VND, mobilizing nearly 1,000 engineers and workers directly involved in the construction throughout the manufacturing process.
The project investor, Phu Quoc Petroleum Operating Company (PQPOC), a branch of the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group, said: Up to now, the project has completed onshore fabrication of the entire base and four piles, ensuring technical standards, safety and quality according to international regulations.
The investor added that the launching, transportation, and offshore installation are being urgently prepared and are expected to be completed in November 2025, on schedule, demonstrating the capacity, spirit of overcoming difficulties, and determination of Petrovietnam and its member units in implementing the national key energy project.

The Block B - O Mon gas - power project chain is a national key project with a total investment of nearly 12 billion USD, including three components: Upstream: Development of Block B & 48/95 and Block 52/97 gas fields offshore Southwest Vietnam, about 220 km from shore, water depth of about 77 m; Midstream: Block B - O Mon gas pipeline system with a length of 431 km; Downstream: Complex of four gas power plants O Mon I-IV with a total capacity of about 3,800 MW.
Once operational, the project chain will provide approximately 5.06 billion m³ of gas per year as a clean, stable source of fuel for power plants in the Southwest region, contributing tens of billions of USD to the budget, promoting industrialization in the Mekong Delta region and contributing to ensuring national energy security.

Also in the morning of the same day, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang, together with leaders of the City Party Committee, Committee and departments attended the inauguration of the BK-24 wellhead platform (unoccupied) and the connecting bridge to the BK-20 platform under the development plan of Bach Ho field, block 09-1 of the Vietnam - Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro, and worked with leaders of the Vietnam National Energy Industry Group and its member units to evaluate the performance of the entire Group, remove difficulties and obstacles, and resolve recommendations to create favorable conditions for the Group's development.
