On the morning of November 9, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for a primary and secondary boarding school for ethnic minority children in the border communes of Thuan An and Quang Truc.

Attending the groundbreaking ceremony at the construction site of Thuan An Primary - Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, there were Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee Y Thanh Ha Nie Kdam, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi and representatives of central ministries, branches and localities of Thuan An commune, Lam Dong province.

Thuan An primary and secondary boarding school for ethnic minorities is built on an area of ​​over 2.6 hectares, in the border area of ​​Dak Thuy village, Thuan An commune (Dak Lao commune, Dak Mil district, old Dak Nong ).

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc emphasized that the Party and State always consider education as the top national policy. Especially remote and difficult border areas receive special attention in education, so that education in this area can develop equally, not at a disadvantage compared to the lowlands, and students can access knowledge like their friends in the plains and urban areas.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that, implementing the Politburo's policy, the Government plans to build 248 inter-level boarding schools in remote, border, and island areas in the next three years.

In 2025, the Government will immediately build 100 boarding schools. Each school will have an average of 21 classrooms, funded by the Government, which has currently spent 15,000 billion VND on this program. Boarding schools in remote and border areas will have full modern facilities, sports fields, swimming pools, and full boarding houses for both teachers and students to eat, live and work at the school.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc also asked the contractors to ensure technical and aesthetic standards, and put quality first. "This school must be a symbol of knowledge for students, so that they will remember the school hundreds of years from now," he said.

At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested local authorities to create the best conditions for security and order to build the school on schedule, ensuring its most effective use.

For the education sector, the Deputy Prime Minister requested to have the best preparation of conditions, including the teaching staff, so that when the project is put into use, it will immediately promote effectiveness in teaching and learning.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi thanked the leaders of the Party, State and Government for their attention and investment in building two boarding schools in the border area of ​​Lam Dong province.

Mr. Muoi said that at the same time, in Quang Truc commune, the Provincial People's Committee also organized the construction of a boarding school for students in the border area. According to Mr. Muoi, the province strives to complete the construction of both schools by June 30, 2026 to put them into use next school year.

According to the design scale, Thuan An and Quang Truc primary and secondary boarding school for ethnic minorities has 30 classrooms, with about 1,050 students. The total investment does not exceed 225.9 billion VND, capital from the Central, local and mobilized social resources.

3 inter-level boarding schools in Dak Lak will be invested with more than 390 billion VND, serving more than 3,000 students, expected to be completed in 2026. Of which: Buon Don Primary and Secondary School (Buon Don Commune) has a total investment of more than 150 billion VND, with a scale of more than 1,100 students; Ia Rve Primary and Secondary School (Ia Rve Commune) will be upgraded and expanded from Nguyen Thi Dinh Secondary School, with a total investment of more than 120 billion VND, with a scale of more than 1,100 students; Ia Lop Primary and Secondary School (Ia Lop Commune) will be upgraded and expanded from the existing facilities of Nguyen Trai Primary School and Tran Hung Dao Secondary School, with a total investment of more than 100 billion VND, with a scale of more than 900 students.

La Thi Yen Vy (student of Nguyen Thi Dinh Secondary School, Ia Rve Commune) expressed her joy when the new school was built, including a dormitory: "I will not have to struggle and worry about the long distance when going to school to study."

The three projects that were started this time are key projects in the school construction investment program for border communes, invested by the Dak Lak Province Civil and Industrial Construction Investment Project Management Board. The projects are expected to create a breakthrough in developing educational infrastructure, improving people's knowledge, and contributing to strengthening national defense and security in the Central Highlands border area.
