Some universities strengthen leadership personnel for new term

Recently, a number of public universities have carried out the process of perfecting leadership personnel for the new term 2025-2030.

Most recently, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (HUL) organized the announcement of decisions to recognize the School Council, Chairman of the School Council and Principal for the 2025-2030 term. Accordingly, Ho Chi Minh City University of Law has carried out the procedures and was recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training with Decision No. 2155/QD-BGDDT dated July 28, 2025 as the School Council for the 2025-2030 term, and at the same time, with Decision No. 2156/QD-BGDDT recognizing Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Van Nhiem, Party Committee Secretary, to hold the position of Chairman of the School Council for the 2025-2030 term. In October 2025, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Decision No. 2929/QD-BGDDT recognizing Dr. Le Truong Son as Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Law for the 2025-2030 term.

On October 27, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics celebrated its 49th anniversary and handed over the leadership to the next generation for the 2025-2030 term. Here, the unit announced and awarded the decision on management positions for the 2025-2030 term, including: Prof. Dr. Su Dinh Thanh holds the position of Chairman of the Science and Training Council, Editor-in-Chief of the Asian Journal of Economic and Business Research (Jabes), and Director of the Institute for Regional Development Research and Consulting; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong holds the position of Chairman of the UEH Strategy Council... Previously, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao also decided to take on the role of Chairman of the UEH Council for the 2025-2030 term and Assoc. On October 23, the Organizing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee coordinated with the Party Executive Committee of the University of Finance and Marketing to hold a ceremony to announce the decision to appoint additional personnel for the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University for the 2025-2030 term. According to the decisions of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Tien Dat, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Principal of the University of Finance and Marketing, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the Party Committee of the University for the 2025-2030 term. At the same time, Dr. Cao Tan Huy, Vice Principal of the University was appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Finance and Marketing, for the 2025-2030 term.

On the morning of October 1, Hanoi National University of Education also held an announcement ceremony for the decision to recognize the school's Principal for the 2025-2030 term. According to the decision of the Ministry of Education and Training, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duc Son was recognized as the Principal of Hanoi National University of Education for the 2025-2030 term.

On September 30, Dong Thap University held a ceremony to announce and present the decision of the Minister of Education and Training on recognizing Associate Professor, Dr. Ho Van Thong as Rector of Dong Thap University for the 2025-2030 term.

Since the beginning of August, Ho Chi Minh City Open University has announced and handed over decisions on leadership personnel for the new term 2024-2029. Previously, at the conference to study and implement Resolution 71-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in education and training development organized by the Ministry of Education and Training on October 24, the Minister of Education and Training noted that the plan to arrange leadership personnel for public universities and colleges according to the new model (Party Secretary concurrently the head of the university education institution) will be implemented from the beginning of December this year to ensure that schools have new leaders and a stable apparatus right from the beginning of 2026.
