Two days earlier, heavy rains caused flash floods that washed away two sections of road leading to Hrách village, with a total length of about 150m, and also collapsed the suspension bridge pier, completely cutting off the only traffic route into the village.
Hrách village currently has 234 households with 1,172 people, and the landslide-affected road is the only road connecting the commune center and neighboring areas. Due to traffic congestion, people have to use ladders, swing on ropes across damaged suspension bridges or wade through streams to get around, posing a high risk of safety.

Worryingly, at this time, agricultural products such as cassava, corn, and sugarcane have entered the harvest season, but because the road has been washed away, people cannot transport them out of the village. The temporary road construction is only a temporary solution, while the rainy season will last for about a month, the risk of further landslides is very high.

According to the People’s Committee of Sró Commune, to invest in repairing the damaged road and suspension bridge, it will cost about 6 billion VND, which is beyond the local budget. Without timely support, agricultural products are at risk of spoiling, causing serious economic losses to the people of Hrách Village – who mainly depend on agricultural production for their livelihood.
