According to the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the weather at the North-South Expressway expansion project in the East, La Son - Hoa Lien section through Hue City and Da Nang City, is still complicated. Although there is no longer any prolonged heavy rain, there is still scattered rain, causing the soil and rocks on the slope to be saturated with water, posing a high risk of landslides.
For the landslide-affected areas, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board has directed the contractors to mobilize maximum resources, equipment, and machinery to clean up day and night, ensuring the entire route is open to traffic as soon as possible. By October 31, the project was opened to one lane.
From November 10, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board continues to implement a temporary traffic organization plan on the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway.
Specifically, at landslide and road surface damage locations at Km 50+700 - Km 50+800, Km 41+450 - Km 41+550 and Km 42+700 - Km 42+800, one lane will be opened to traffic; traffic control forces will be deployed 24/7 on the route.
The unit will monitor for about 10 days (from November 10 to 20), then evaluate. If safety conditions are met, the route will be opened to two lanes.
In addition, passenger cars and trucks with six axles are prohibited from traveling from 6:00 a.m. on November 10 to 6:00 a.m. on November 20. Other vehicles are allowed to travel on the route from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day. After 10 days, an assessment will be made and a plan will be made to reopen the route to normal traffic.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board will coordinate with relevant agencies to add prohibition signs and directional signs at intersections and connecting routes from National Highway 1A to the project, according to the above traffic diversion plan so that people are aware.
