Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung encouraged and gave gifts to people in the storm-hit Gia Lai.

On November 9, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung and leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee directly inspected the damage recovery situation caused by storm No. 13, visited, encouraged and presented gifts to support people in heavily affected coastal areas.

The working group inspected the recovery work after the storm and high tides in the peninsula and lagoon areas of Quy Nhon Dong ward, Tuy Phuoc Dong commune and De Gi commune. At the destinations, the Deputy Prime Minister kindly visited and shared the difficulties with people severely affected by natural disasters.

Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung visited and encouraged households on the banks of Thi Nai lagoon (Tuy Phuoc Dong commune) whose houses had completely collapsed.

According to reports from the above communes and wards, storm No. 13 and high tides caused 124 houses to collapse completely, 3,254 houses to be damaged, 3,675 houses to be flooded; many areas of crops, rice, aquatic products, salt, as well as boats and cages were severely damaged. The total value of damage in the 3 communes and wards is estimated at about 600 billion VND.

After inspecting the situation, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung shared the difficulties with the local authorities and people, and requested the immediate implementation of remedial measures in the spirit of "fastest - most drastic - most effective", in order to soon stabilize people's lives.

“In the immediate future, we absolutely must not let people go without food, clothing, or shelter. Localities need to focus on repairing essential infrastructure such as transportation, electricity, telecommunications, and schools; cleaning up the environment, repairing agency headquarters, and ensuring that operations return to normal soon,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung visited and presented gifts to households whose houses were completely collapsed by storm No. 13, and asked local authorities to urgently support the reconstruction of houses so that people can soon stabilize their lives.

The Deputy Prime Minister also supported 20 families whose houses were completely collapsed, each with 60 million VND to rebuild their houses; at the same time, he presented 150 gifts, each worth more than 2 million VND, to affected households in the three above-mentioned localities.
