In 2022, H. worked for hire in Ho Chi Minh City, then was invited to Cambodia to do "light work, high salary" and agreed to go. When arriving, H. learned that he had been tricked and taken to a company specializing in organizing online fraud. H. was forced to work 14-16 hours a day, forced to scam at least 3 people/day, if he did not meet the target, he would be beaten with a baseball bat, electrocuted...
In October 2025, H. and several others fought back to escape from detention. Some were lucky enough to escape and report to Cambodian authorities.
Immediately afterwards, Cambodian authorities organized a rescue, taking H. and the remaining victims out of the scam facility.
In November 2025, H. was received by the Quang Ngai Provincial Police and brought back to his hometown. After verifying his identity, Kon Tum Ward Police assisted in completing the procedures to reunite him with his family.

When H. was tricked into going to Cambodia, his family lost contact and heard that he had died, so they set up an altar. When the police brought him back safely, the whole family was overwhelmed with emotion, removed his portrait and expressed their deep gratitude to the police for helping him return home.
The ward police recommend that people be vigilant and immediately report any suspicious signs to the authorities to promptly prevent and handle scammers and ensure security and order in the area.
