On a flat land with an open view, 6 brick kilns were built symmetrically, 4 on one side and 2 on the other. Wild plants grew along the path, covering the kilns, proving that this place had been abandoned for a long time.
However, from a distance or near, from above or below, the brick kiln looks as beautiful as a forgotten work of art.

Each brick kiln has an average height of 10-12m, shaped like a giant upside-down red bowl, gradually narrowing at the top. They are built with thousands of evenly arranged bricks, similar to the brick-laying technique in ancient Cham towers, without using mortar but relying on the grinding technique to create a tight fit between the bricks.
From the outside or inside, you can see the brick-laying technique that creates an artistic beauty for the brick kilns.

The entrance to the brick kiln is oval-shaped, just like the entrance to the Cham towers. Inside, the ground is covered with a layer of soft green moss and wild plants spread across the ground.
The bright sunlight shines through the entrance or from the chimney on top of the kiln, creating a circular halo of light on the soot-covered black brick wall. Standing in the heart of the kiln amidst that ghostly light, one feels as mysterious as being in the middle of an ancient religious building.

According to Ms. Tram Anh, a resident living nearby, these brick kilns were built in 2017. However, because they are located in a residential area, they only operated for a short time and then had to stop. Through many generations of landowners, the brick kilns have remained intact.
Many locals and visitors passing by stopped to admire and were curious about the strange beauty of the old brick kilns that look like ancient towers.

This area is close to the ancient villa vestiges at the foot of Ham Rong mountain, about 5-6km from Pleiku center, in Hoi Phu ward, formerly Anel Cham village, Chu Hdrong commune.
From the National Highway 19 bypass, Ia Bang Commune - An Phu Ward, one can still see the towering kiln peaks against the sky, like giant, silent towers in the middle of nature.
Sometimes, we suddenly realize the beauty of old things that have sunk into oblivion. Standing in front of abandoned brick kilns also evokes similar feelings, when looking at the tops of the kilns like the tops of towers printed on the sky, and wild trees growing on all sides seem to embrace what is left…
