After listening to the report of the leaders of Dien Bien province on the socio -economic situation and the results of implementing tasks in the past time, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long affirmed: Dien Bien is a province with an important strategic position in terms of security, borders, complex terrain... but with efforts and solidarity, Dien Bien has achieved many positive results in attracting investment, social security, caring for the poor and ethnic minorities.

Regarding the goals and tasks set by Dien Bien in the coming time, which is to achieve an economic growth rate of 8% or more for the whole year of 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said that it is appropriate to the context and conditions, but he suggested that Dien Bien needs to identify specific solutions, pay attention to training a team of dedicated, united and determined cadres to achieve the set goals.

When Dien Bien considers tourism as a key industry, it must research and find solutions to implement it, by building infrastructure, accommodation facilities, and destinations with unique tourism products, with their own identity. Connecting traffic by air to attract tourism is a good solution to attract tourists, but Dien Bien needs to research to have specific support mechanisms and policies, in harmony with the interests of businesses.

Emphasizing the political and humane significance of the policy of building inter-level schools for students in border areas, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long suggested that Dien Bien province pay special attention to building Si Pa Phin Inter-level School to become a model of inter-level schools in the whole country.

At the Si Pa Phin Inter-level School construction site, every day Dien Bien Construction and Trade Corporation No. 6 arranges 450 workers to work 3 shifts to ensure completion progress, putting it into use from the 2nd semester of the 2025-2026 school year.

Reporting to Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long and the working delegation, comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, stated: In the past time, despite the intertwined advantages and difficulties, with the solidarity and joint efforts of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities at all levels, sectors, armed forces, business community and people of all ethnic groups, Dien Bien has achieved many important results.

Economically, Dien Bien continues to maintain a stable growth momentum, GRDP growth rate is estimated at 6.76%, total product in the province (GRDP) at 2010 comparative prices is estimated at more than 12,289 billion VND; economic structure is shifting in the right direction.

In 2025, Dien Bien has started construction of a number of key projects, which are meaningful in creating momentum for development, such as: Urban area project of groups 17 and 18; Muong Thanh A urban area project, Muong Thanh airport walking street in Dien Bien Phu ward.

The work of developing the labor market, connecting supply and demand and shifting the labor structure continues to receive attention and achieves many positive results. In the first 10 months of 2025, the whole province created new jobs for 8,282 workers (reaching 90.02% of the plan), and provided vocational training for 4,250 workers (reaching 50% of the plan).

Social security activities are implemented synchronously, achieving comprehensive results in many areas. Incentive policies and regimes for people with meritorious services are implemented fully and promptly; activities of visiting and giving gifts to people with meritorious services, poor households, and disadvantaged people are regularly attended to.

The housing support project for meritorious people and the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses were effectively implemented, completing 100% of the plan with 7,365 newly built houses and 100% of the plan repaired, with a total budget of more than 402,270 million VND. Poverty reduction policies and production support projects were effective, contributing to increasing income and improving people's lives, especially ethnic minorities; the poverty rate in the whole province is about 19.3%, (down 1.99% compared to 2024)...

In particular, with great efforts and determination, in recent times, Dien Bien has successfully implemented the policy of implementing two-level local government without interrupting other political and economic tasks. During this time, Dien Bien has also led and directed the successful implementation of the Commune Party Congress, successfully organized the 15th Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030, creating an exciting and confident atmosphere among cadres, party members and people.
