On November 8, the opening event of the Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City Festival in Aichi province took place at the Edion Hisaya Plaza park stage (Nagoya city, Aichi province, Japan).

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Omura Hideaki - Governor of Aichi Prefecture and Ms. Hirose Noriko - Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Ambassador in Aichi, Head of the Organizing Committee. On the Vietnamese side, there was the presence of Mr. Tran The Thuan (Member of the City Party Committee - Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City), Ms. Tran Mai Phuong (Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Ho Chi Minh City) and Ms. Cao Thi Phi Van (Deputy Director of the City's Investment and Trade Promotion Center - ITPC).
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran The Thuan said the event was not only an opportunity for cultural exchange, but also a vivid demonstration of the friendship, trust and comprehensive cooperation between the two localities - the leading dynamic economic and cultural centers of Vietnam and Japan.
Mr. Thuan shared that through music , dance and cultural colors, artists of Ho Chi Minh City want to send to Japanese friends a message of friendship, sharing and aspiration for the future.

At the opening ceremony, artists from Ho Chi Minh City performed unique art pieces, expressing national identity. The program gathered the participation of Meritorious Artist Thu Thuy, artist Dinh Nhat Minh, music producer Khanh, artist Mai Anh, artist Doan Minh Tai, artists Le Hung - Nha Hieu, puppetry group of the Art Center, dance group ABC...
The art program started at around 4:00 p.m. (local time) on November 8, with many performances from Meritorious Artist Thu Thuy, singer Vo Ha Tram, singer Dong Hung, singer To My, music producer Khanh, ABC dance group... attracting about 10,000 spectators.
The artists brought to the audience, overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students in Japan a sumptuous musical feast. Among them, there were many performances imbued with love for the homeland, combined with contemporary performances. In particular, singer Dong Hung sang the National Anthem with majesty and eloquence in Japan with the entire audience, leaving many proud emotions.
