On the morning of November 8, speaking with VietNamNet reporter , Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son special zone ( Quang Ngai ) confirmed that one of the three people who were swept away by the waves on the afternoon of November 6 had been rescued.
The person rescued was Mr. Phan Duy Quang (born in 1978, residing in Tay An Hai village, Ly Son special zone) - one of two people who rowed a boat to save the man who jumped into the sea to commit suicide.
According to initial information, Mr. Quang was discovered and rescued by a cargo ship at sea. After bringing the victim on board, the crew performed first aid and initial care. Mr. Quang's health is currently stable.
It is expected that this ship will take Mr. Quang to Son Duong port ( Ha Tinh province) on November 9.

It is known that the victim was found in the sea bordering Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces, about 60 nautical miles from Ly Son island.
Local authorities are continuing to coordinate with functional forces to send ships to this area to expand the search for the remaining two people.
Previously, as VietNamNet reported, at around 3:00 p.m. on November 6, Mr. Duong Quang C. (born in 1981, residing in Tay An Vinh village, Ly Son special zone) jumped into the sea at the wharf area due to a family conflict.
Seeing that, Mr. Quang and Mr. Le Van Sanh (born in 1988, both living in Tay An Hai village) used a basket boat to swim out to save them. However, the big waves and strong winds caused all three people to be swept away, unable to return to shore.
By the morning of November 7, the Quang Ngai Province Civil Defense Steering Committee had sent a document requesting the National Civil Defense Steering Committee and the General Staff of the Ministry of National Defense to direct Division 372 (Air Defense - Air Force) to mobilize helicopters to search for the three missing people mentioned above.
