Among them, the fishing boat numbered BTh 81196 TS (owner Mr. Nguyen The Tinh, La Gi ward, Lam Dong province, 7.1 m long, 35 CV capacity) was completely sunk by waves while moving into the port; the damage was estimated at 200 million VND, but fortunately no one was injured. Two other fishing boats, BTh 85885 TS and BTh 86131 TS (owners Mr. and Mr.) anchored at the port entrance, were also overturned by the strong current and sank on the spot.

After the incident, border guards and local authorities quickly arrived to assist in the salvage, warn and advise fishermen not to go to sea temporarily, and to reinforce boats at the estuary to ensure safety during times of flood and big waves.

Local fishermen said that over the past few days, the water level of the Dinh River has risen abnormally, combined with heavy rains, creating a strong current flowing into the sea. Currently, local authorities continue to monitor and deploy response measures to limit damage and protect local boats and fishing gear.
