Ngoc Trao commune changes economic structure

Vice Chairman of Ngoc Trao Commune People's Committee, Bui Van Thuan said: In recent times, the commune has had many solutions to help people develop the economy , focusing on transforming the economic structure towards reducing the proportion of agricultural structure, gradually increasing the proportion of services and industry - construction. Mobilizing people to apply scientific and technical advances, intensive farming to increase crop productivity, and applying mechanization to fields. People have boldly accumulated and converted ineffective rice and forest areas to growing crops with high economic value. The commune has accumulated 765 hectares of large-scale agricultural production, of which 260 hectares have applied high technology. Focusing on attracting investment in fruit growing areas, up to now there have been 456.15 hectares of fruit trees, including 166.7 hectares of pineapple, 257.69 hectares of guava and Thai jackfruit, concentrated in the villages of Van Bao, Ngoc Tam, Tan Lien, Thach Cu... Currently, the commune has 2 products that meet the 3-star OCOP standard at the provincial level, including guava of Van Bao Cooperative and honey of the honey beekeeping cooperative of Ngoc Trao village. The forestry economy has developed quite well, currently in the commune there are over 1,000 hectares of production forest (mainly acacia trees) bringing high income to the people. Livestock and poultry farming has developed in the direction of farms, ranches, and large-scale commodity production. The farm and ranch economy has increasingly developed in quantity and quality, up to now the total herd of livestock in the commune is 8,526 heads, over 50,000 poultry.

Industrial production, handicrafts and construction are increasingly developing. Many factories and production facilities operate effectively and attract a large number of workers, such as: S&H Vina Export Garment Factory, Gia Bao Wood Processing Factory, Xuan Son Joint Stock Company and 371 handicraft production facilities, creating regular jobs for over 1,000 local and non-local workers with stable income. Many construction materials are exploited and produced, bringing high economic value. Trade and services in the commune are constantly developing. Up to now, the whole commune has 512 trade and service establishments and 5 agricultural service cooperatives, creating regular jobs for 1,178 workers. The commune has planned 3 industrial clusters, with a total area of 150 hectares. Currently, Van Du 1 Industrial Park, with an area of 20.3 hectares, has been established, investing in building technical infrastructure, and attracting production investment projects.
