More than 9,600 hectares of crops were flooded, hundreds of irrigation works, canals, and embankments in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands were severely damaged after prolonged floods.

According to statistics from the Department of Irrigation Construction and Management ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), by 4:00 p.m. on November 8, floods in the South Central and Central Highlands regions had caused severe damage to agricultural production and irrigation infrastructure. The entire region currently has more than 9,600 hectares of crops flooded and damaged; 54,300 aquaculture cages and nearly 9 hectares of aquaculture water surface were washed away or destroyed.

In Quang Ngai province alone, preliminary statistics show that 111 irrigation works and more than 8,400 meters of canals were damaged; 7 embankments were seriously eroded, and 7 domestic water supply works were washed away or severely degraded.

In Gia Lai province, many anti-erosion works were also destroyed. About 45 meters of embankment collapsed; more than 20 kilometers of canals were eroded, washed away or damaged; 380 meters of river walls and dykes were eroded and broken.

In Dak Lak, serious landslides occurred along the Bach Dang embankment (left bank of the Ba River) with a length of about 800 m. In addition, nearly 3,200 m of various canals were eroded, sweeping away about 400 m3 of soil and rock, affecting irrigation water supply; some key works were also severely damaged.
