According to VNA reporters, the residential area along the Thach Bi Sea Embankment, Thach Bi 2 Residential Group, Sa Huynh Ward (this morning, November 7) is still in disarray. Some houses and shops of local people were destroyed by the waves at night. Many households from the concentrated shelters have returned home to try to search and collect what is left after the fierce waves.
Mr. Nguyen Son, from Thach Bi 2 residential group, sadly said that the high tide and waves rose at 8 p.m. and did not subside until 11 p.m. on November 6. The 5-meter-high waves crossed the sea wall and hit the residential area. “My house had a part of the concrete wall collapsed due to the waves. If it weren’t for the Thach Bi sea wall project to prevent waves, this residential area would have been “taken” by the high tide waves last night,” Mr. Son said.
Pointing to the restaurant along the embankment that was destroyed by the waves, Ms. Phan Thi Huong of Thach By 2 residential group, Sa Huynh ward lamented: "I have lived here for nearly 30 years, but I have never seen such a high tide. Before the storm hit, we were evacuated to a concentrated shelter. This morning, when I returned, the restaurant was devastated, and seawater flooded into the house, causing damage to many properties and belongings."
At Chau Me Residential Group (Sa Huynh Ward), the high tide on the evening of November 6 also destroyed dozens of shops and restaurants along the coast. Most of the shops and restaurants within 100m of the water's edge were destroyed. The already difficult life of coastal residents has now become even more difficult.

There are still no full statistics on the damage caused by the storm and high tide. This morning (November 7), the People's Committee of the ward mobilized many forces to coordinate with 100 officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command to support the people of Chau Me Block and Pho Khanh Kindergarten to overcome damage to shops and flooding caused by high tide.
