A series of People's Artists and Meritorious Artists organized a music night to honor People's Artist Trung Kien

(NLDO)-People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artists Dang Duong, Lan Anh, Tan Nhan, Phuong Nga... joined hands to organize a special music night to honor their teachers.

On November 7, the Vocal Department, Vietnam National Academy of Music announced the art program "Forever Songs", commemorating and honoring the great contributions of Professor - People's Artist Trung Kien.

Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien has made great contributions to Vietnamese music .

Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien is a giant of Vietnamese revolutionary music. He possesses a rare, bright, resonant tenor voice, combining standard technique with emotion and a dignified, elegant performance style. He sings with the spirit of an artist - a soldier, bringing to revolutionary songs a strong vitality, both artistically valuable and close to the public.

Along with his performing career, Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien is one of the leading vocal pedagogues, having trained and guided many generations of professional singers. He is the one who laid the foundation for formality and modernity in vocal training, directly compiling, editing and standardizing the curriculum system, building training programs from intermediate, university to postgraduate, contributing to bringing Vietnamese vocal teaching closer to international standards, while still maintaining the identity and intonation of Vietnamese in singing.

The tribute concert to People's Artist Trung Kien was held on November 16 at the Grand Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music.

According to People's Artist Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, the current vocal curriculum of the Vietnam National Academy of Music is mainly compiled by Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien.

In addition, Professor-People's Artist Trung Kien is also a prestigious music researcher, author of many valuable research works, textbooks and professional documents, widely used in music training institutions nationwide. These works not only provide technical knowledge but also deeply address the expression, language and characteristics of Vietnamese in vocal art, making an important contribution to shaping the modern Vietnamese vocal style.

Recalling his teacher, People's Artist Quang Tho said that since the years of the resistance war against the US to save the country, the singing voice of Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien with revolutionary songs, especially songs about the South, has resounded far and wide, as if to send messages and encourage the army and people to fight and liberate the country.

The program "Forever Songs" consists of 3 parts: The Origin of Academic Vocal Music, Revolutionary Music Stream, Romantic - Contemporary Music Stream. Each part is a slice of the artistic journey, reflecting the contributions and legacy that Professor - People's Artist Trung Kien left behind.

In particular, the music night ended with the song "The Teacher" (composed by Nguyen Nhat Huy), performed by the artists and the choir of the Vocal Music Department, like a candle of gratitude lighting up the memory of the teacher devoted to music.

Interspersed between the performances are precious documentary films, recreating the image of People's Artist Trung Kien, a simple, dedicated artist, who works early and comes home late for his students and art. Participating in the program are People's Artist Trung Kien's excellent students: People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Lan Anh, Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Meritorious Artist Phuong Nga, Meritorious Artist Phuong Uyen... Along with that are singers Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Bich Thuy, Bich Hong, Phuc Tiep, Le Anh Dung, Nguyen Vu, Khanh Ly, Quang Tu, Manh Hoach, Thu Hang, Huong Ly, Minh Tuyen, Thang Long...

Dr. Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Head of the Vocal Department and General Director of the program, said that each performance is not just a performance but like a chapter in a musical memoir, honoring the teacher who quietly contributed brick by brick to lay the foundation for vocal training in Vietnam.

"We want to affirm that the artistic path that Professor and People's Artist Trung Kien has chosen is a pioneering, correct and sustainable path" - Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan expressed.

The music night "Forever Lyrics" takes place at 8:00 p.m. on November 16 at the Grand Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music.
