Artist Dieu Hien was moved to sing Tru Vuong burning himself at Thi Nghe Nursing Home.

On the morning of October 17, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc led a delegation to visit many artists at home and artists at Thi Nghe Nursing Home.

Ms. Dieu Hien happily praised the leaders during the visit, which was part of the City Party Committee's plan, to outstanding artists and artists in difficult circumstances and encouraged groups and individuals to carry out cultural and artistic activities well in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and national reunification.

The trip on the morning of October 17 was led by Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Phuoc Loc. He visited writer Xuan Phuong, poet Le Giang, People's Artist Tra Giang, musician Pham Minh Tuan and 5 artists at Thi Nghe Nursing Center, including: Dieu Hien, Ngoc Dang, Mac Can, Huynh Thanh Tra and Lam Son.

Dieu Hien is still full of emotions about King Tru burning himself.

Pleased to receive the attention of the city leaders, Ms. Dieu Hien offered to sing everyone two verses from the ancient song Tru Vuong Chau Minh .

Mr. Phuoc Loc was afraid she would get tired so he told her to sing just one sentence but Dieu Hien refused, saying that singing one sentence was not enough.

When Mrs. Hien sang, everyone was amazed because despite her old age, weak health, and difficulty moving, her voice still had enough strength and depth to express everything that composer Vien Chau had conveyed through the song.

King Tru immolates himself and Qin Qiong cries for his friend are two ancient songs that composer Vien Chau dedicated to Dieu Hien. Mrs. Hien once confided that these two songs helped her "feed" herself and her family.

Decades have passed but every time they see Dieu Hien, the audience asks for King Tru to burn himself and Tan Quynh to cry for his friend . Even though there are some artists who have performed it, the audience still believes that no one can sing Dieu Hien better.

Mr. Loc said that her way of laughing in the traditional song is very unique, it takes inner strength and many years of practice to be able to express it like that.

Artist Dieu Hien said that some young Cai Luong artists also came to Thi Nghe Nursing Center to ask her to teach them singing. However, she noted that success cannot be achieved in 1 or 2 days, you need to always try hard, practice every day for a long time to win over the audience.

Mac Can remembers Laughing Youth

In addition to artist Dieu Hien, artist Ngoc Dang at Thi Nghe Nursing Center also sang the song My Village for the leaders.

Ms. Ngoc Dang is the oldest artist from the former Ho Chi Minh City Artist Nursing Home to transfer to Thi Nghe Nursing Center.

She was born in 1927, the oldest but considered the artist with the best health among the 5 artists in Thi Nghe. However, recently she unfortunately fell and broke a bone and had to stay at the infirmary. Although she cannot walk, she still looks sharp and speaks clearly.

When the delegation arrived at the room to visit artist Mac Can, he immediately recognized People's Artist Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City. He recounted the story of co-starring in the film Nguoi con gai dat do (Red Land Girl ) in which artist Thanh Thuy played the main role, Vo Thi Sau.

Not only that, when he learned that Tuoi Tre reporters were participating in the work during the visit, Mac Can mentioned Tuoi Tre Cuoi newspaper, remembered the late writer Le Van Nghia, mentioned the editor-in-chief Tien Hung, and Ms. Bom at the office...

Artist Huynh Thanh Tra is happy to receive everyone's attention. He said that because of the surgery for a herniated disc, he needs crutches every time he walks, but he is actively exercising to recover quickly.

Mr. Phuoc Loc and the leaders were very happy that the artists at Thi Nghe Nursing Center, despite their illness and old age, were still optimistic, singing every day and chatting humorously. The artists expressed that they always felt warm when being cared for and encouraged by the State in their old age after a long journey of dedication to the city's art.
