Previously, on November 16, cargo ship number HY 0459, capacity 250CV, owned and captained by Mr. Nguyen Cong Sinh (from Hai Phong ), sailed from Hai Phong to Can Gio (HCMC), with 5 crew members on board.
While the ship was moving through the waters of Quang Ngai, the rudder suddenly broke, large waves pushed the ship ashore and it ran aground in the waters of Trung Ly residential group, Duc Pho ward.

Upon receiving the news, the People's Committee of Duc Pho Ward sent forces along with officers and soldiers of Pho Quang Border Guard Station to quickly approach the scene and support the ship in distress.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Le Minh Thu, Chief of Pho Quang Border Guard Station, through actual inspection, the health of the crew members is basically stable.
Regarding the ship's condition, the unit assisted the captain in repairing the rudder and arranged temporary accommodation for the crew at a local shrimp farm.
Due to the unfavorable weather conditions at sea, with big waves and strong winds, rescue operations have not been able to begin. Sand has partially filled the cargo ship.
