Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate recommends handling tens of thousands of billions of dong in economic matters

Proactively inspect and remove obstacles for pending projects

Speaking to review the industry's tradition, Deputy Chief Inspector of Ho Chi Minh City Bui Duy Hien said that in recent times, the City Inspectorate has proactively carried out large-scale thematic inspections, especially for projects with difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, backlogs, prolongation, and risks of loss and waste. The inspection conclusions are publicly announced as a basis for handling shortcomings and violations, and most importantly, this is the basis for relevant departments, branches and agencies to propose and implement solutions to remove obstacles so that projects can be completed soon and put into use, contributing positively to the socio -economic development of the City.

According to Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc, over the past 50 years, the City Inspectorate has continuously grown and successfully completed its assigned tasks. Through inspection work, it has recommended the recovery of thousands of billions of VND to the budget, recommended other economic handling of tens of thousands of billions of VND; transferred hundreds of cases to the investigation agency, including many serious violations. In particular, inspection work has also contributed to detecting inadequacies in mechanisms, policies and management, thereby proposing timely amendments and supplements.

The Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate also advises the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in organizing specialized inspections to remove difficulties and obstacles for long-standing projects that pose a risk of loss and waste. The work of receiving citizens, handling petitions, resolving complaints and denunciations always ensures legal regulations; advises the City People's Committee to promptly and effectively resolve long-standing and complicated cases, thereby contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the city.

Shifting focus to early prevention

Currently, Ho Chi Minh City has become a megacity of the country, creating great pressure on state management, especially in inspection work.

In that context, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee requested the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate to continue promoting solidarity, upholding the sense of responsibility, discipline and order of each civil servant and employee of the Inspectorate.

Along with that, innovate the method of operation in the direction of shifting the focus from inspection when detecting signs of violations to early and remote prevention; combine administrative inspection with thematic inspection, proactively detect and strictly handle violations, with no forbidden areas.

"Early detection of violations to protect public assets, at the same time creating conditions to remove difficulties and obstacles for organizations, businesses and people," the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee emphasized.

He also requested to improve the effectiveness of citizen reception, complaint and denunciation settlement. The staff assigned to receive citizens must not only have solid professional qualifications, be knowledgeable about the law, be patient, honest, impartial and objective, but also be enthusiastic, responsible, sympathetic, close to the people, patient, listen to opinions and explain the law to the people.

In parallel with promoting the application of information technology through the application of Online Public Services, it is necessary to study the model of "online citizen reception" to facilitate people in making work schedules and sending online petitions, and looking up the progress of settlement. At the same time, coordinate with units to advise the city to handle and resolve complicated, crowded, backlogged, and prolonged complaints in the city.

Another key task is to strengthen the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity in the city. Emphasizing that the Inspectorate has a core and pioneering role in preventing and combating negativity and waste, he directed the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate to focus on controlling power and preventing corruption within the agency and inspection activities. At the same time, strengthen measures to prevent, detect and promptly handle acts of evasion, shirking responsibility, indifference, apathy, and delay in work, ensuring the goal of "not being able to, not daring to be corrupt" in accordance with the direction of the Central Government.

Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate received the First Class Labor Medal

On this occasion, the President awarded the First Class Labor Medal to the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate for its outstanding achievements in inspection, handling complaints and denunciations, and preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland.

The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee presented the traditional flag of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to the City Inspectorate on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the tradition of the Ho Chi Minh City Inspectorate.

Also at the ceremony, 8 individuals received the Second and Third Class Labor Medals from the President; 1 collective and 11 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
