Specifically, from 2 p.m. on the same day, the discharge through the spillway was 640 m³/second. The total amount of water discharged downstream fluctuated from 980 m³/second to 1,240 m³/second, including the amount of water through the power generation turbine.

The regulation is based on the water flow to the lake (currently 1,430m³/s), the upstream water level of Tri An lake (61,702m), the downstream water level at the plant (4.0m) and the flood discharge situation of the upper-level hydropower plants.

The company said it will flexibly adjust the discharge flow depending on weather developments, water volume in the lake, water level in the lake and downstream water level measured at Bien Hoa hydrological station.

Tri An Hydropower Company has notified the Civil Defense Command at all levels and relevant agencies to coordinate, proactively inform people in downstream areas, promptly deploy response measures, and ensure safety.

Previously, on November 17, the company reduced the discharge flow to 320m³/s, after maintaining the level of 480m³/s on November 14.
