(DN) - On the afternoon of November 17, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Dong Nai province, Pham Van Trinh, chaired a working session with departments, branches, telecommunications and electricity enterprises in the area on the development of 5G network in the province.

At the meeting, relevant units shared about the development of the 5G network, the shortcomings and difficulties in the implementation process. According to telecommunications enterprises, to deploy the development of the 5G network, most BTS stations must switch from using single-phase electricity to three-phase electricity, because 5G devices consume large amounts of power and require stable power sources.

According to a synthesis of telecommunications enterprises, up to now, the rate of people using 5G in the province has reached about 29%. Meanwhile, according to the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee, the target is to reach 60% of people using 5G services by the end of 2025. Therefore, the delay in completing the electricity infrastructure and the delay in upgrading 5G at BTS stations will directly affect the ability to achieve this target.

Concluding the meeting, Provincial Party Committee member and Director of the Department of Science and Technology Pham Van Trinh requested: Telecommunications enterprises need to proactively coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade and Dong Nai Electricity Company to promptly have plans to remove obstacles related to the completion of electricity infrastructure, thereby building and upgrading 5G broadcasting BTS stations according to the plan.

In particular, for newly built BTS stations, telecommunications enterprises must complete all required registration documents and procedures; apply a unified implementation process right from the survey stage to avoid problems during implementation. In particular, network operators need to pay attention to signal distortion when switching to 5G networks, as well as sharing the use of shared infrastructure.

The leaders of the Department of Science and Technology requested the Department of Industry and Trade and the electricity sector to facilitate the provision of 3-phase power to BTS stations serving the 5G upgrade. Telecommunications enterprises provide a list of BTS stations that need to be upgraded, 3-phase demand, conversion roadmap, proactively work with relevant units and the electricity sector to agree on a plan to promptly handle related problems.
