After two storms No. 5 and No. 10 in August - September 2025, Ha Tinh's power grid infrastructure suffered extremely heavy damage. The whole province had over 2,000 broken electric poles, more than 63,000 meters of medium and low voltage power lines broken and damaged, many sections of the line were located deep in landslide and flooded areas, making recovery work difficult.

Immediately after the storm passed, Ha Tinh Electricity Company (HTPC) activated the emergency plan, mobilized maximum human resources and the support of other provincial power units to fix the problem and restore power to the people. At the same time, deployed the plan to restore the power grid across the system.

However, in unstable weather conditions, storms on storms, heavy rains continued to appear and last for a long time, causing the construction work to be continuously interrupted. At the site, many locations were divided, the terrain was complex, the contractor had to divide the workforce, carry materials by hand. In some locations with weak ground, the construction team had to manually erect columns, insert temporary braces while waiting for machines to come in to support...

Many areas were deeply flooded and isolated, causing difficulties in troubleshooting and restoring the power grid.

Not only the terrain is difficult, the mobilization of materials to fix the problem is also an unprecedented challenge for the Ha Tinh electricity industry. Two consecutive big storms have caused the demand for electricity materials in the Central region to increase dramatically, while concrete pole factories in Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa are all operating at full capacity but still cannot meet the demand. Contractors are forced to order from Quang Tri, Hue, even Hung Yen, Hoa Binh ... leading to long transportation times and significantly increased costs.

To speed up construction progress and resolve arising difficulties, on November 17, Ha Tinh Electricity Company held a working session with departments, regional electricity management teams and contractors to evaluate the progress of post-storm power grid restoration projects, agree on construction solutions, and strive to complete the entire grid restoration work before December 31.

Mr. Do Tien Hung - Director of Ha Tinh Electricity Company said: "The December 31 deadline is a mandatory requirement, not only to complete the task of overcoming natural disasters but also to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power system to serve people and businesses during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year 2026. The Company has established working groups directly led by Deputy Directors, regularly following the scene to urge progress, promptly handling any arising situations. At the same time, directing contractors to mobilize maximum human resources, equipment, and materials, absolutely not allowing delays due to subjective factors".

Accordingly, before December 20, Ha Tinh Electricity Company strives to complete the erection of new poles and replacement of equipment; before December 25, complete the wire pulling and energizing of the lines, and at the same time focus on consolidating the line corridor, preventing recurrence of incidents, and ensuring stable system operation.

Regardless of day or night, power management units are coordinating with contractors to maximize their resources to ensure early completion and restoration of the power grid across the province.

Regarding construction solutions, Ha Tinh Electricity Company requested units to coordinate with local authorities to open temporary roads, reinforce access routes at landslide sites; set up landmarks and mark routes for safe construction vehicles. The Material Planning Department focused on increasing the frequency of transportation from suppliers, prioritizing items to be implemented on a rolling schedule.

For contractors, the company requires units to increase construction, work overtime, work according to the principle of "doing as soon as the site is available", avoiding work accumulation and reducing waiting time. Complex locations will be reinforced with supervising engineers to handle arising issues directly on the site. All construction measures must ensure absolute safety, especially in locations with weak ground or still flooded.

Regional power companies will closely monitor the scene, closely coordinate logistics, ensure safety and maintain smooth coordination of work, contributing to speeding up the completion of grid system restoration in the shortest time.

Thanks to the support of Ha Tinh Electricity Company, we have been able to reach the site early and take advantage of favorable construction implementation. Up to now, the unit's work has basically been completed, waiting for the rain to stop, we will work overtime, increase shifts, and take advantage of every hour to complete the volume soon. The unit is also ready with manpower and machinery to support the other team at other construction sites in the area, ensuring the finish line as committed".

Although the storms continue, with a proactive spirit and flexible construction solutions, the electricity industry is racing against time with all its might, determined to complete the restoration of the power grid before December 31 as committed; bringing the Ha Tinh power system back to a safe and stable state, meeting the needs of people and businesses at the end of the year and the upcoming Lunar New Year.
