By the afternoon of November 12, in Xuan Phu commune (Dong Nai province), the Xuan Loc Power Management Team was forced to cut off power to 185 households in the area of Thai Thien bridge and Tho Chanh field. In Xuan Loc commune (Dong Nai province), the Xuan Loc Power Management Team is monitoring, if the water continues to rise, they will cut off power to 67 households in this area to ensure safety. Although the water is receding, the power staff is still on duty, observing and assessing the rising water level to promptly handle the power cut to ensure safety for the people.
Accordingly, the subordinate units are assigned to inspect and review the power system in low-lying areas at risk of deep flooding; prepare means, equipment and human resources to proactively cut off power when necessary, preventing electrical accidents in residential areas. Regional power management teams are assigned to be on duty 24/24 hours, closely coordinating with local authorities, police and militia forces to respond quickly when unusual situations occur.
Along with technical work, Dong Nai Electricity Company also promotes propaganda to people about electrical safety measures during the rainy and stormy season, such as: do not touch electrical equipment when wet, do not go into flooded areas with electric poles or transformer stations; proactively turn off circuit breakers and circuit breakers when water floods into the house.
When the water recedes, Dong Nai Electricity Company notes: When people in flooded houses turn the power back on, they must check household electrical appliances to avoid dampness that can cause electrical accidents.
A representative of Dong Nai Electricity Company said that strengthening on-call duty and inter-sectoral coordination is a solution to minimize risks and protect people's lives and property in flooded areas.
