Connected, responsible to the community

One day at the end of October, many young people in Dau Giay commune (Dong Nai) participated in a health check-up to prepare for military service in 2026. Among the young people examined, there were quite a few religious people. Pastor Nguyen Van Dung, Manager of the Protestant Church, Lo 25 commune (now Dau Giay commune), shared: "Every year, the locality has hundreds of young Catholics who are eligible for military service examination. We clearly understand our responsibilities, actively participate in mobilizing young people to enthusiastically go to fulfill their civic duty to the Fatherland; regularly coordinate with the commune military agency to propagate and guide believers to comply with all policies and guidelines of the Party and State, support local movements; encourage young people to actively participate in military service; unite to help families with policies and difficulties. This is also a demonstration of responsibility to the Fatherland and homeland".

Recently, at the campus of Tinh Hoi Pagoda ( Binh Phuoc Ward), representatives of the Executive Committee of the Buddhist Sangha of Dong Nai Province coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an outdoor sports facility, as a gift to monks and Buddhists. This is not only a physical facility, but also a symbol of solidarity and close attachment between the armed forces and religions, especially Dong Nai Buddhism, in the cause of building, protecting and developing the homeland.

Venerable Thich Buu Hoa, Deputy Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dong Nai province, expressed: “Dong Nai Buddhism deeply appreciates the attention and facilitation of the Military Region 7 Command, the Military Command of Dong Nai province and the authorities at all levels in supporting, connecting and accompanying the Sangha in Buddhist affairs as well as activities for the benefit of the community. The completed project will be a healthy playground, a place to practice physical, mental and moral health for monks, nuns, Buddhists and local people.”

In particular, in recent days, religious organizations in Dong Nai province have mobilized, received and sent many delegations of monks, nuns and Buddhists to the North and Central regions to give money, gifts and necessities to support people affected by natural disasters and floods. The sentiments and hearts of religious people in Dong Nai province have contributed to easing the pain of loss and heavy damage of people in provinces devastated by storms and floods.

According to statistics from the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Dong Nai province, each year, religions in the province contribute more than 400 billion VND to carry out social security activities; operate dozens of social protection facilities to care for orphans and lonely elderly people; provide free health care for all classes of people through oriental and western medicine clinics... Those actions clearly demonstrate the humanitarian gesture and responsibility of religions accompanying the nation.

To let religious people always join hands to build the homeland

With the characteristics of a locality with a large number of religious followers, promoting the role of religious dignitaries, officials and followers to actively participate in patriotic emulation activities and movements in the locality requires all levels, sectors and the entire political system of Dong Nai province to continue to effectively and synchronously implement many solutions, creating a favorable and trustworthy environment for religions to operate in accordance with the law.

According to Master Nguyen Huu Hoa, lecturer at Nguyen Hue University, religious people in Dong Nai account for a high proportion of the province's population, so they play an important role in socio-economic development and strengthening national defense and security. To promote the role of religious people, it is necessary to proactively build a close, sincere and trusting relationship between the government, functional agencies and religious organizations through paying attention, listening and resolving the legitimate requests and aspirations of organizations, dignitaries and followers.

In fact, over the past years, Dong Nai province has done quite well in this regard, creating favorable conditions and ensuring that religious organizations operate within the framework of the Constitution and the law. This is a great success of the political system of Dong Nai province.

Faced with the current complex developments and impacts from many sides, the work of mobilizing believers and parishioners to participate in patriotic emulation movements needs to be promoted with appropriate methods and measures; encouraging religious people to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and social security activities such as: Health, education, vocational training, hunger eradication, poverty reduction, etc. Promoting the resources and strengths of religious organizations and individuals for the cause of socio-economic development of the province, especially guiding believers to do meaningful work "good life, good religion"...
