Previously, on November 24, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Suong (residing in Dinh Tan village, Dong Son commune, Quang Ngai province) reported to Binh Hai Border Guard Station after receiving a notice from Mr. Bui Tan, captain of fishing boat QNg 90892 TS, about the fishing boat captained by her husband, Mr. Vo Van Quan, running aground while on the way to avoid a tropical depression.
Through verification, ship QNg 90424 TS ran aground at Loai Ta Nam shoal, Loai Ta cluster in Truong Sa archipelago, at coordinates 10°42'25" North latitude - 114°19'47" East longitude.
Immediately after receiving the information, Binh Hai Border Guard Station instructed Mr. Tan to contact Mr. Quan to turn on the SOS button on the journey monitoring device in case he could not fix it himself, and at the same time coordinated with local authorities to notify the functional forces for support.
Fishing boat QNg 90424 TS, 16.6m long, 409CV capacity, departed from Sa Ky Border Control Station on November 8, fishing with a trawl net in Truong Sa sea area, with 8 workers on board.
