Working together to overcome the floods.
On the morning of November 26th, after several days of urgent efforts to support disaster relief, more than 200 officers and soldiers of Military Region 7 completed their mission in D'ran commune. Prior to that, starting on the morning of November 21st, the forces were present at the scene, participating in rescue operations and relocating residents from flooded areas when the Don Duong reservoir released water.

As the floodwaters receded, tons of mud and debris covered many residential areas. The military continued to coordinate with local authorities to clean up and wash roads and houses. Simultaneously, accumulated waste, animal carcasses, and wastewater were processed safely to ensure environmental hygiene.

In addition to assisting with evacuation and cleanup, the chemical defense and medical forces of Military Region 7 also deployed disinfection efforts in residential areas, schools, health stations, religious establishments, etc., to prevent the risk of disease outbreaks after the floods.

Sow seeds of hope
Along with heavy losses to homes, property, and agricultural production, the people of D'ran are facing many difficulties in stabilizing their lives. However, with support from many sources, hope is being kindled day by day.

Mr. Tran Dinh Hieu (Quang Lac village), one of the households whose house was completely destroyed, shared: "Although we suffered many losses, thanks to the help of the soldiers, my family has gradually stabilized. The important thing is that we are still alive and our land is still there, and we will strive to move forward."
In some areas at high risk of landslides, such as Duong Moi village, Lac Thien 2, and Phu Thuan 3, local authorities have proactively relocated 61 households to safe areas and are closely monitoring the geological situation to have timely response plans.

Mr. Nguyen Lam (Lac Thien 2 village) said: “We are complying with the relocation instructions from the authorities. Although there are still difficulties, thanks to the timely attention and support, the people feel much more secure. The people hope that the authorities will soon have a plan to address the landslide-prone area so that we can return to live stably.”
Working together in unity
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huu, Secretary of the Party Committee of D'ran commune, in addition to addressing the consequences of the disaster, the local government is focusing on receiving and fairly distributing support from organizations, associations, and individuals to help people stabilize their lives as soon as possible. Simultaneously, many damaged rural roads are being inspected and plans are being made for repairs.

In addition to the damage to 756 houses (including 15 that completely collapsed), D'ran commune also had over 1,320 hectares of agricultural land affected, mainly crops and perennial plants. The authorities are coordinating with relevant agencies to review and compile statistics in order to propose support for the people to resume production.
