The Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City said that the forecast of the meteorological agency said that the tropical depression could become a storm, causing the sea area from Lam Dong to Ca Mau to have northeast winds gradually increasing to level 6, gusting to level 7-8, wave height from 2-4m, rough seas.
Sea area of Ca Mau - An Giang - Phu Quoc northeast wind level 4-5, gust level 6-7, wave height from 1.5-2.5m, slightly rough sea.
On both coasts, the weather is scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, watch out for tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
In order to proactively respond to the tropical depression that is likely to strengthen into a storm, the Department of Agriculture and Environment recommends that departments, branches, units and localities:
Closely monitor warning bulletins and forecasts of tropical depression developments through the bulletins of the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the website of the National Hydrometeorological Forecasting Center and the website of the City Civil Defense Command.
Prepare prevention and response plans in case the tropical depression strengthens into a storm, directly affecting the city.
Prepare forces, means and equipment to carry out search and rescue work when there is a situation.
Organize 24/7 serious on-duty staff.
Coastal wards, communes, island communes, Con Dao special zone, City Border Guard Command, Coastal Information Station, Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance deploy plans to ensure safety for people and boats operating on rivers, at sea, and in seaport waters.
Closely monitor all developments of tropical depressions, regularly notify vehicle owners of developments of tropical depressions and strong winds and big waves at sea to proactively prevent them.
Direct and implement the work of counting, guiding and ensuring safety for ships and vehicles (including tourist boats) operating at sea and along the coast, proactively escaping from dangerous areas or returning to safe shelters.
The Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance must grasp the location and coordinates of fishing vessels operating offshore, the number of crew members, and the status of vessels under its management, especially those fishing in areas that may be directly affected by the tropical depression that may strengthen into a storm. Notify vessels to move to take shelter and anchor safely.
Relevant departments and units on irrigation and technical infrastructure closely coordinate with the People's Committees of wards, communes and special zones to effectively operate reservoirs, sluice gates, drainage culverts, tide control culverts, and prepare mobile water pumps to promptly mobilize to overcome flooding incidents caused by heavy rain from the impact of tropical depressions (storms).
Southern Irrigation Exploitation Company Limited, Tri An Hydropower Company and reservoir management units based on weather conditions in the basin, reservoir water level, reservoir flow and downstream tide level and heavy rain in Ho Chi Minh City coordinate in reservoir operation to ensure safety of the project and reduce flooding downstream, avoiding unfavorable combinations due to heavy rain from the impact of tropical depression (storm) combined with flood discharge.
Other units proactively take measures to prevent and quickly handle technical infrastructure incidents.
