Technology can replace many things, but it cannot replace an inspirational teacher.

In the era of strong educational transformation, teachers are still the mainstay of trust, nurturing humanistic values, the desire for innovation, and daring to do differently to do well.

But in the current context of innovation, showing gratitude to teachers does not stop at flowery wishes or beautiful bouquets of flowers.

Building capacity and knowing how to adapt

Vietnamese education needs to continue to change, from thinking, content, teaching methods, learning methods to education management. Because today's learners not only need knowledge, but also need the ability to adapt; not only need degrees, but also need the ability to practice; not only study for exams, but also study to live and develop in a changing environment.

Schools cannot continue to maintain the model of teachers reading and students taking notes, or rely solely on heavy textbooks and curriculums that are slowly updated compared to reality.

In the digital economy , artificial intelligence (AI), big data, automation... require each person to have the capacity for continuous learning, critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving and interdisciplinary understanding. These capacities cannot be formed if schools only focus on exams and evaluate by scores.

Education must become a process of organizing and managing learning, creating conditions for learners to master the path, experience practice, connect knowledge, form capacity and know how to adapt.

Without change, education will remain stuck in a rut, lacking vitality. "Doing differently to do better" is not a slogan but must become a spirit of action. We need to redesign lectures in an experiential direction, increase the role of self-study, develop project-based courses, need national standards but know how to reasonably exploit indigenous knowledge, connect with businesses; apply technology and data to personalize and support learners.

The "learner-centered" philosophy is only valuable when schools organize flexible learning environments, design programs according to abilities, and evaluate processes instead of just evaluating results.

Education can only make a breakthrough if teachers are trusted, empowered, encouraged to innovate, and work in an environment where creativity is respected.

The teacher is the key

In this context, the role of the teacher is crucial. Teachers are not only the ones who impart knowledge, but also the ones who guide the thinking, open up potential, and inspire lifelong learning in students.

A good teacher today is not only good at professional knowledge but also good at technology, good at connecting with reality, good at organizing learning activities. A good lecture comes not only from dedication but also from careful preparation, the ability to innovate methods, and sensitivity to changes in economic and social life.

The humanistic value of the teaching profession lies not only in pens and chalk, but in dedication, self-renewal and putting learners at the center of all improvements.

Practice shows this clearly. In educational institutions that boldly innovate, from universities to high schools, when teachers proactively apply AI, organize flipped classrooms, build interdisciplinary subjects, connect with businesses, engage with local communities..., learners make clear progress.

In the Mekong Delta - where I have practical experience, many schools have strongly shifted to the project-based learning model, bringing students into practical problems of businesses, communities, and the river region. There, teachers play the role of "architects" of adaptation, designing learning experiences so that each student can develop competencies suitable to the labor market and social requirements.

Modern technology, equipment and facilities are important, but cannot replace the intelligence and heart of the teacher. Without a team with enough heart, vision, talent and innovation capacity, any reform will find it difficult to reach its destination.

Education can only make a breakthrough if teachers are trusted, empowered, encouraged to innovate and work in an environment where creativity is respected. That is the most sustainable foundation for the future.

Sowing the seeds of knowledge

The core of all these innovations is the teacher, the one who sows the seeds of knowledge, preserves human values and leads the young generation to the future. Let us cherish the values that teachers are sowing every day because our future and that of the country are changing every day.
