(NLDO) - Ho Chi Minh City Open University disseminates tax knowledge, supports business households in converting from lump-sum tax to declaration, reduces risks and increases operational efficiency.

In order to help small businesses promptly grasp new tax regulations, proactively comply with the law and minimize risks in production and business activities, on November 28, Ho Chi Minh City Open University coordinated with the People's Committee of Xom Chieu Ward to organize a thematic report "Disseminating tax knowledge to business households in Ho Chi Minh City".

Disseminate tax knowledge to business households

The program has the participation of a team of experienced experts in the field of accounting - tax and business management. The speakers include: Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep (Head of Financial Accounting Department, Faculty of Accounting - Auditing), Ms. Dinh Thi Thu Hien (lecturer of Faculty of Accounting - Auditing) and Ms. Hoang Thi Nga (auditor of Business Management Department 3 - Ho Chi Minh City Tax).

At the training session, experts focused on clarifying practical contents related to the conversion from contract households to declaration households - an issue of concern to many business households.

Specifically, identify business types (contracting households, declaring households, enterprises); benefits of business households when switching to the declaration method , especially in financial management and reducing tax risks; preparation steps when converting , from legal procedures, using electronic invoices to organizing accounting books; how to calculate taxes according to regulations for each type of activity; identify common risks and prevention methods.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ha, Rector of Ho Chi Minh City Open University, emphasized that this activity demonstrates the school's commitment to serving the community with professional capacity and social responsibility. Changes in tax policy are creating great challenges for millions of business households. The school wishes to accompany and support people to understand correctly and do correctly, contributing to sustainable socio -economic development.

The representative of the local government, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thao, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Xom Chieu Ward, said that the shift from the contract method to the declaration method is an inevitable trend to increase transparency and equality in tax obligations. However, many business households still encounter difficulties in implementation. Therefore, knowledge dissemination sessions like the above help people grasp the regulations and limit risks in the business process.

Previously, on October 6, Ho Chi Minh City Open University established the Center for Legal Research and Practice, enhancing legal support activities, consulting and disseminating knowledge to the community. This is also the focal point connecting academia with practice, creating a practical environment for students.

Ho Chi Minh City Open University said that in the coming time, it will coordinate with many wards and communes in the area to continue implementing support programs for business households in many different fields, contributing to improving management capacity, promoting digital transformation, innovation and sustainable development.
