On November 28, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc had a courtesy meeting with TikTok Southeast Asia General Director Chanida Klyphun. The meeting discussed strategic cooperation mechanisms, especially TikTok's support for initiatives related to the International Finance Center (IFC) of Ho Chi Minh City and the development of digital businesses.
At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc acknowledged TikTok's positive contributions through many practical activities, including: supporting the spread of the city's cultural, tourism and innovation potential; organizing digital economic skills training programs, supporting millions of SME (small and medium-sized enterprises) sellers and local OCOP projects in accessing the global market.
Sharing with the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Chanida Klyphun said that the company is considering the option of transferring 3 services from cross-border (off-shore) suppliers to domestic (on-shore) at the Ho Chi Minh City International Financial Center.
Accordingly, TikTok plans to apply for permission to establish three companies at IFC Ho Chi Minh City to carry out the above activities, in line with the city's orientation for digital economic and digital service development, with the expectation that the companies can start operating in 2026.

TikTok said it has invested nearly $5 billion in Vietnam in the past seven years. The TikTok ecosystem has helped create livelihoods for more than six million individuals and businesses, and has contributed more than VND4 trillion to the state budget.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc said he welcomed and approved TikTok's proposal to establish companies in Ho Chi Minh City, and hoped TikTok would consider setting up its headquarters at IFC Ho Chi Minh City.
