Special music night of students to pay tribute to Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien

The program is produced by Vang Son Mot Thuo, under the artistic direction of Dr., People's Artist Do Quoc Hung - Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, General Director Dr., Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Master Nguyen Thi Bich Hong directs the production.

Many famous artists, who are also excellent students of Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien such as: People's Artist Quang Tho, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Meritorious Artists Dang Duong, Lan Anh, Tan Nhan, Phuong Nga, Phuong Uyen... and singers Trong Tan, Anh Tho, Bich Thuy, Bich Hong, Phuc Tiep, Le Anh Dung, Nguyen Vu, Khanh Ly, Quang Tu, Manh Hoach, Thu Hang, Huong Ly, Minh Tuyen, Thang Long...

There are also pianists: Doctor, Meritorious Artist Trinh Minh Trang, Master Bui Dang Khanh, Master Nguyen Le Thuyen Ha, Master Nguyen Thanh Giang...

Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien is a giant of Vietnamese vocal art, an exemplary teacher. He is one of the typical names, an artist, a pedagogue who has devoted his whole life to the revolutionary music career and vocal training. He has both the talent of a great artist and the stature of a teacher, a researcher, an "architect" in building and developing vocal teaching in Vietnam.

Doctor, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, said: "The name of Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien is associated with the growth of Vietnamese vocal music, with indelible marks in the history of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The Academy's current vocal curriculum from intermediate to university level is mostly written by People's Artist Trung Kien. All are taught according to the methods and processes set out by Professor Trung Kien."

The Director of the Academy also affirmed that the Program is a deep gratitude of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, of generations of students to the teacher, Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien. The Program is also an affirmation that the next generations are continuing and promoting the flow and musical heritage that the teacher left behind, continuing to develop the field of Vietnamese vocal training to new heights.

The program had the participation of many generations of students of Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien.

The special art program “The Songs Remain Forever” is divided into 3 parts: The Origin of Academic Vocal Music, Revolutionary Music Stream and Romantic and Contemporary Music. The 3 parts of the program will outline the career and dedication of Professor, People’s Artist Trung Kien to the country’s music and the role of “architect” in teaching and training vocal music in Vietnam, while also showing the continuation of the musical legacy of the famous teacher and artist.

Dr., Meritorious Artist Tan Nhan, Head of Vocal Department, General Director of the program said: "Each performance in the special art program "Forever Songs" is not just a performance but like a chapter in a musical memoir honoring Professor, People's Artist Trung Kien".

In particular, the program will close with the song "The Teacher" (Composer: Nguyen Nhat Huy), performed by a group of artists and the Vocal Faculty choir, like a candle of gratitude, lighting up the memory of the teacher who trained many generations of famous artists today. Interspersed between the performances are documentary films about People's Artist Trung Kien - a simple, dedicated teacher, always devoted to art and students.

Notably, among the participating artists is singer Bich Thuy, once known as the “Queen of Vietnamese Opera”, who returned from Austria to perform.

The concert is free of tickets and will take place at 8pm on November 16 at the Grand Concert Hall, Vietnam National Academy of Music, 77 Hao Nam, Hanoi .
