One of three missing people in Ly Son was rescued by a cargo ship.

(Chinhphu.vn) - After about 1.5 days missing at sea, one of the three residents in Ly Son special zone was discovered and rescued by a cargo ship and is currently in stable health.

At 8:45 a.m. on November 8, the Hainan 39 ship, while sailing through Gia Lai province's waters, discovered and rescued Mr. Phan Duy Quang, who was drifting at sea and in poor health.

On November 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son Special Zone, Quang Ngai Province, said that one of the three victims who went missing at sea when storm No. 13 made landfall was rescued by a maritime vessel. The person found was Mr. Phan Duy Quang (born in 1978, residing in Ly Son Special Zone).

According to initial information, the Hai Nam 39 ship was on its way from Vinh Tan port to Son Duong port ( Ha Tinh ). When the ship passed through Gia Lai province's waters, at 8:45 a.m. on November 8, it discovered and rescued Mr. Phan Duy Quang who was drifting at sea, in poor health. It is expected that the Hai Nam 39 ship will bring Mr. Quang to Son Duong port (Ha Tinh province) on November 9.

"The location where the victim was found was determined to be in the sea bordering Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces, about 60 nautical miles from Ly Son Island. We are currently sending ships to this area to continue expanding the search for the remaining two victims," ​​the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ly Son Special Zone informed.

Earlier, on the afternoon of November 6, three people in Ly Son special zone were drifting at sea when storm No. 13 was making landfall. According to initial information, two people in Ly Son (Mr. Pham Duy Quang and Mr. Le Van Sanh) went by boat to rescue Mr. Duong Quang Cuong, but all three were drifted away. The authorities deployed search boats, but due to the darkness, bad weather, big waves, and strong winds, they were forced to temporarily suspend the rescue operation that evening.

On the morning of November 7, the authorities continued to dispatch ships to search for the three people. Quang Ngai province sent a dispatch mobilizing the Border Guard, Navy, and Coast Guard forces to coordinate in implementing emergency rescue measures.
