A concrete example is the "Compassionate Surgery" program for children with congenital deformities, specifically cleft palates, implemented by Saigon Co.op in collaboration with Bel Vietnam and Operation Smile at the University Medical Center of Ho Chi Minh City. The program originated from the Tet campaign "Contributing to Laughter - Bringing Joy to Children," in which for every Laughing Cow cheese product sold at Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.opFood, Finelife, and Co.op Online stores, Saigon Co.op donated 2,000 VND to the fund for children's smile surgeries.
On the morning of July 5, 2025, the program's launch ceremony took place in a warm and emotional atmosphere as 70 children underwent screening and prepared for surgery. "Every small action can contribute to changing lives for the better. Saigon Co.op will continue to organize many meaningful programs to spread the message of compassion to the community," a representative from Saigon Co.op shared.
