On the afternoon of November 5, Mr. Pham Van Nam, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province, said that he continued to sign and issue an official dispatch on proactively letting students stay home from school to prevent and avoid storm No. 13 Kalmaegi to ensure the safety of students, teachers and education staff.
Accordingly, the Department of Education and Training of Gia Lai province requested heads of educational institutions in the eastern and southeastern areas of Gia Lai province before the merger, including Dak Po, An Khe, Kong Chro, Kbang, Phu Thien, Ia Pa, Krong Pa and Ayun Pa, to urgently let students stay home from the afternoon of November 5 to the end of November 7 to proactively prevent and avoid storm No. 13 Kalmaegi.

Authorities of communes and wards in the west of Gia Lai province have proactively propagated and instructed people in low-lying areas prone to flooding and areas at risk of landslides to raise vigilance and prepare to respond when heavy rains and floods from upstream come, in order to minimize damage to people and property.
The authorities have also developed specific plans, ready to coordinate with the people to proactively prevent storm No. 13 Kalmaegi, ensuring safety for the community.
On the same morning, the Gia Lai Department of Education and Training issued a document directing educational institutions in the area to proactively let students stay home from school to ensure safety before storm No. 13 Kalmaegi. Accordingly, students in 58 communes and wards in the east of Gia Lai province (the area belonged to Binh Dinh province before the merger) will stay home from the afternoon of November 5 until the end of November 7.
