On November 4, Le Van Tam Primary School, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City welcomed a special delegation of visitors - administrators, teachers, and students from Gaeryeong Primary School, Gyeongsangbuk Province, South Korea.
The exchange included many cultural exchange activities. The students participated in bamboo dancing, xoe dancing, shuttlecock kicking, and clay figurine making - games imbued with Vietnamese culture. In particular, Korean students performed a musical ensemble - an intangible cultural heritage of this country, attracting the curiosity and admiration of many Vietnamese students.

According to the introduction of Korean students, agricultural music has been passed down for a long time in the Gaeryeong-myeon area, Gimcheon city, Gyeongsangbuk-do province. The name "Binnnae" comes from the name of the village in the area, meaning "agricultural music of Binnnae village". The special feature of this agricultural music is the Jingut part, where the performers are divided into two rows, moving strongly like an army, showing courage and solidarity.
Gaeryeong Elementary School established the Binnnae Agricultural Music Club in 2001. It has been running for 24 years and has won more than 40 awards, including more than 20 national awards.
Mr. Jang Young Tag, Principal of Gaeryeong Elementary School, Korea, said that Korea and Vietnam have long been two close neighboring countries, with many cultural similarities such as using rice as the main food, following Buddhism and respecting the tradition of worshipping ancestors. Today, the relationship between the two countries is becoming closer through increasingly strong economic and cultural exchanges and cooperation.
"I hope that today's meeting will help you understand more about the big world , and become global citizens with big dreams," Mr. Jang Young Tag shared.

Improve students' foreign language skills
On November 4, Le Van Tam Primary School, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City signed a memorandum of understanding with Gaeryeong Primary School, South Korea to enhance international educational cooperation, create opportunities for cultural exchange and improve international integration capacity for students of the two localities.
Ms. Tran Tieu Quynh, Principal of Le Van Tam Primary School, said that cultural exchange activities between students from Ho Chi Minh City and Korea also foster communication skills, teamwork, improve international integration capacity, and respect for cultural differences for students so that they can become global citizens. In particular, this is also an opportunity to help students improve their foreign language skills and stimulate their learning motivation through visiting schools abroad...
"In addition to speaking Korean, Korean students also use English during their interactions. This helps Vietnamese students demonstrate their ability to converse and connect in English with their friends, improve their English communication skills with their foreign peers, and aim to develop English as a second language in schools as the general direction of the city's education sector today," said Ms. Quynh.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Marie Curie High School, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, was honored to welcome a delegation of teachers and students from Tung Son High School (Taiwan, China) in a cultural and academic exchange program at the school's auditorium.
