On November 4, according to the People's Committee of Son Tay Thuong commune, due to prolonged heavy rain, serious landslides occurred on DT.623 route, from Son Mua bridge to Ta Meo bridge, Son Tay Thuong commune, Quang Ngai province.
This route has 25 landslides with a volume of about 60,000m³ of earth and rock, nearly 5km of road surface is severely damaged, of which 3 large landslides are located in Tan Bo residential area (Nuoc Vuong village), Tu Mit residential area (Dak Doa village) and Ra Nong residential area (Huy Ra Long village), making it impossible for motor vehicles to circulate.

Dak Doa village has about 90 households with 145 people. Mr. Dinh Hoai Thu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Son Tay Thuong commune, said: "From the commune center to Dak Doa village is about 17km, of which more than 13km must be walked, 2km of the road is seriously eroded, transporting goods by human power takes a lot of time and effort."
Faced with that situation, the local government has shifted to transporting relief goods by waterway, through Dak Drinh Lake to supply food and necessities to the people of Dak Doa village.

This solution helps shorten access time, ensuring goods are delivered to people in time during days of isolation.

Along with the supply, the locality is urgently mobilizing forces, vehicles, and machinery to clear rocks, soil, and trees at major landslide sites, striving to temporarily open the road to Dak Doa village on November 4.

During the recent flood, Son Tay Thuong commune urgently evacuated 85 households with 347 people, along with a teachers' dormitory to a safe place; on the morning of November 1, they continued to evacuate 4 more households with 15 people in Nuoc Min village to ensure absolute safety for the people.
Previously, on November 3, Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee Do Tam Hien chaired a meeting with departments and branches on overcoming the consequences of floods. He acknowledged the efforts of localities in restoring traffic and ensuring travel for people. However, Son Tay Thuong commune still has 90 households isolated due to landslides. Mr. Hien requested the Department of Construction and the Provincial Military Command to increase forces to support localities to soon clear the route and reach isolated households.
