Based on the table of hometowns of the candidates for professorship (GS) and associate professorship (PGS) recognized as qualified in 2025 (except for the police and military groups), Ninh Binh recorded an impressive result when it ranked first with 95 candidates. Of which, there were 8 GS candidates and 87 PGS candidates.
In the list of candidates from Ninh Binh, there are some typical faces such as Dr. Dinh Viet Cuong (born in 1991), lecturer at Hanoi University of Construction, one of the youngest candidates for associate professor in the interdisciplinary field of Construction - Architecture;
Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Thanh Tung (born in 1982), University of Medicine and Pharmacy (Hanoi National University) is the youngest candidate for professor of Pharmacy in the country this year.
Following is Hanoi with 85 candidates, including 4 professors and 81 associate professors. Hai Phong and Hung Yen are ranked 3rd with 69 candidates.
The concentration of provinces and cities in the North and North Central region is very clear, accounting for 8/10 positions in the top 10 (Ninh Binh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Nghe An, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh).
Major cities and economic and educational centers such as Da Nang (position 12, 28 candidates) and Ho Chi Minh City (position 14, 23 candidates).
The Mekong Delta region includes provinces such as Vinh Long (19), Dong Thap (17), An Giang (14) and Can Tho (13).

In 2025, the State Council of Professors approved the profiles of 900 candidates for Professor and Associate Professor. This is the highest number since 2019, that is, since the recognition of these two titles with higher standards, according to Decision 38 of 2018 of the Prime Minister.
According to the assessment of the State Council of Professors, the quality of candidates this year is quite good, with much improvement in foreign language skills. All candidates have enough scientific research works published in international journals listed in ISI, Scopus or other prestigious journals.
The Council also received feedback from the society and the scientific community after publicly posting the candidate information. According to the Council, this is a useful resource to help functional units select qualified candidates who meet the standards for the title of Professor and Associate Professor.
