11 Vietnamese schools ranked among the world's best universities

Times Higher Education (THE) announced the world's best university rankings in 2026 in October 2025. Vietnam has 11 representatives in this list.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics is ranked 501-600, the highest among Vietnamese higher education institutions. Next are Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University, ranked 601-800.

Ranked for the first time, Nguyen Tat Thanh University and Danang University are in the 1001-1200 and 1501+ groups. The remaining nine Vietnamese representatives all maintained their rankings from last year.

This year, the Times Higher Education (THE) ranking organization continues to evaluate educational institutions based on 18 indicators under 5 main pillars, including: research quality (30%), teaching quality (29.5%), research environment (29%), internationality (7.5%) and income, industrial patents (4%).

The 2025 THE rankings surveyed nearly 2,200 universities in 115 countries and territories. The results show that the US and UK continue to dominate the world's top 10, affirming their leading position in the field of global higher education.

THE is one of the four most prestigious university ranking organizations in the world, along with QS, ARWU and US News. This prestigious university ranking was first published in 2011 and is now considered one of the important measures reflecting the quality and reputation of international higher education institutions.
