25 Vietnamese universities listed in QS Asia 2025 rankings

TPO - Vietnam has recorded remarkable progress in the field of higher education when 25 schools were included in the 2025 Asian University Rankings announced by QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), a sharp increase compared to 11 schools last year.

On November 4, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) officially announced the 2026 Asian University Rankings. With 1,526 educational institutions evaluated, Vietnam has 25 universities participating, making a strong impression in both quantity and position.

Notably, many universities appeared in the rankings for the first time, such as: Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Hutech), Foreign Trade University (Hanoi campus), Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Phenikaa, Irrigation, Commerce, Vietnam National University of Agriculture and Banking Academy.

According to the rankings, Hanoi National University leads, up three places from last year. Duy Tan University is ranked second at 165th, down 38 places. Following are Ho Chi Minh City National University and Ton Duc Thang University, at 175th and 231st respectively.

Van Lang University made the strongest progress, rising 240 places, from the 491-500 group to 251st place, the top 5 in Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, although a newcomer, was ranked 287th, the highest among the newcomers.

In the 300-400 group are Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry. In the 400-500 group are Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Da Nang University, Hue University and Can Tho University.

In the 500-700 group are the Foreign Trade University (Hanoi campus) and the University of Transport. In the 700-900 group are the Ho Chi Minh City Open University, the Vietnam National University of Agriculture and the Hanoi University of Education. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education dropped 471 places compared to the previous ranking, in the 901-950 group.

The remaining six schools include Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Phenikaa, Irrigation, Commerce, Banking Academy and Vinh University, in the 951-1300 group.
