When family is the foundation: The lasting strength of the movement to build cultural life

In modern life, the family is still the foundation to preserve traditional values and nurture human personality. Therefore, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" is not only a slogan, but has become the responsibility and self-awareness of many families. From each home, good habits and community spirit spread, contributing to creating sustainable changes in society.

If society is like a living organism, then the family is the most important “cell”. A warm, civilized family not only contributes to creating a stable residential area but also promotes sustainable development of the community. In the movement “All people unite to build a cultural life”, the title “Cultural Family” is always considered the core, because this is the closest environment, directly forming and nurturing the personality as well as the life values of each person.

It is no coincidence that many localities consider registering and maintaining the title of “Cultural Family” as an important criterion to evaluate the results of the movement. From maintaining a clean and beautiful environment, civilized behavior, law enforcement to building neighborly relationships, all start from the awareness and actions of each family.

In Yen Thinh 8 residential group, Van Phu ward, the family of Ms. Trieu Lan Phuong and Mr. Pham Vinh Hoang is mentioned as a typical example in the movement to build a cultural life for many years. The small house was built a long time ago but is always neat and clean. Although busy with work at the office, they always take time to clean the house together, cook delicious meals for the family, take care of their children, and support their elderly mother.

Ms. Phuong shared: “For my family, building a cultural life is not a temporary movement but a daily habit. If all members know how to love, give in, and keep the house tidy, cultural life will naturally improve.”

Sharing the same opinion with Ms. Phuong, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa's family in Nguyen Thai Hoc 15 residential group ( Yen Bai ward) always considers that building a cultural life in the residential area starts from each happy family. In addition to regularly participating in the activities of the village, Ms. Hoa and her husband especially focus on teaching their children to be disciplined and responsible.

Ms. Hoa said: “We build a cultural lifestyle starting from simple things, such as speech and living habits. Every night the whole family spends 30 minutes reading books. Thanks to that, children are less dependent on phones and form a love for knowledge.”

The story of Ms. Phuong and Ms. Hoa’s family is just one of tens of thousands of beautiful “pieces” in the picture of the province’s cultural life today. When the movement is deployed from each home, the effect spreads clearly in residential areas, especially in highland villages and ethnic minority areas.

In Khe Loong village, Tran Yen commune, where more than 95% of Dao people live, the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" has spread strongly and received positive response from the people.

Mr. Ly Van Hanh - Head of Khe Loong village shared: "We always encourage households in the village to clean up every week, plant trees and maintain a civilized lifestyle in each family; focus on economic development to improve living standards, and actively participate in local cultural and artistic movements... Each of those small actions will bring great results because when everyone does it together, it will create a competitive community."

Thanks to that cooperation, 96% of households in the village have achieved the title of "Cultural Family". Littering has significantly reduced, social evils have been almost eliminated; children have become obedient and polite, while adults have behaved more civilly. These obvious changes originate from the lifestyle of each family.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Thanh - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tran Yen Commune, said: "We think that in order for the movement to build a cultural life to go into depth and have practical effects, the most important thing is the consensus of the people. The commune does not impose but mobilizes by setting examples of typical households. When people see changes from their own neighbors, they will voluntarily follow."

It is expected that by the end of 2025, the whole province will have 85.5% of households achieving the title of "Cultural Family", and 77.5% of villages and residential groups achieving the title of culture. These numbers are proof of the effectiveness of the movement when the family is placed as the foundation.

From the simple but true stories in each home, it can be seen that the movement "All people unite to build a cultural life" is only truly sustainable when it comes from the awareness and lifestyle of each family. When each individual knows how to preserve traditions, cultivate love and join hands to build a healthy and civilized living environment, the community will become more connected, while promoting sustainable local development.
