VPBank is the only bank to win two VLCA 2025 awards

Vietnam Prosperity Joint Stock Commercial Bank (VPBank; stock code VPB) has just been honored at the 2025 Listed Company Awards (Vietnam Listed Company Awards - VLCA) with two awards in the financial sector, including "Top 10 Best Annual Reports" and "Third Prize for Sustainable Development Report".

After 6 months of voting and evaluation, surpassing 122 listed enterprises, VPBank was recognized by the professional council in both categories. Notably, the bank is the only unit in the banking sector in 2025 to win awards in two reporting areas at the same time.

In the Annual Report category, VPBank was ranked in the Top 10 thanks to meeting the criteria of completeness, transparency and information disclosure standards. In the Sustainable Development Report category, in the first year of publishing an independent report, the bank won third place.

The representative of VPBank receiving the award was Mr. Phung Duy Khuong - Permanent Deputy General Director in charge of the South, Director of Personal Customer Division and Director of Debt Collection and Settlement Division.

The double recognition shows that VPBank's reports simultaneously meet two requirements: strictly comply with information disclosure regulations and approach international reporting standards on sustainable development.

Reporting to international standards, emphasizing ESG

In recent years, VPBank's Annual Report and Sustainability Report have been upgraded in both content and presentation. The reports focus on key information groups such as business results, medium- and long-term strategies, corporate governance and ESG (environmental, social and governance) practices.

These documents are built in the direction of referring to international standards, including the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS).

According to the Organizing Committee, VLCA participation reports are evaluated not only on the level of legal compliance, but also based on systematicity, science , ability to honestly reflect business operations and the level of integration of sustainable development in operational strategies.

For the Sustainability Report category, the scoring is conducted by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), based on the GRI framework and IFRS S1, S2 standards issued by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB).

In 2025, the set of criteria for assessing sustainable development reports will be updated towards increasing internationalization, more suitable to business practices in Vietnam and global reporting standards.

In the Annual Report category, the results were evaluated through many rounds, with the participation of the Vietnam Institute of Directors (VIOD) and the Big4 auditing industry group including Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PwC, before being finally assessed by HoSE and HNX.

According to the bank's leadership, at VPBank, corporate governance is identified as a pillar in the long-term development strategy. The bank implements a governance model that is "beyond compliance", in which governance decisions are linked to the principles of transparency, integrity and balance between the interests of the business and stakeholders.

In 2025, VPBank will continue to be in the group of 20 enterprises with the highest ESG scores in the VNSI (Vietnam Sustainability Index) basket. The environmental, social and governance assessment scores were all recorded to have improved compared to the previous year and were higher than the average of the financial industry.

At the same time, VPBank was among the Top 5 Vietnamese enterprises with the highest ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard scores and was honored at the ASEAN Corporate Governance Awards Ceremony held in Malaysia.

In the field of sustainable finance, the bank is the first unit in Vietnam to successfully issue international sustainable bonds worth 300 million USD. This activity is considered a specific step to link capital sources with long-term development goals and social responsibility.

VLCA – Transparency and Governance Reference Set

VLCA has been organized since 2008 by Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange (HoSE), Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) and Finance - Investment Newspaper, with the sole annual sponsorship from Dragon Capital.

Over the years, the award has been considered an important reference system for listed enterprises in improving reporting quality, perfecting governance and promoting sustainable development.

Not only is it an honor, VLCA also creates pressure for businesses to improve substantially through clear, transparent criteria that are continuously updated according to international standards.
