Improve the quality of teaching staff
From the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year, the Department of Education and Training (DET) coordinated with the People's Committees of localities and educational institutions in the province to review and evaluate the current situation of teachers and managers. On that basis, the sector developed a plan to arrange, recruit, train civil servants and labor contracts to meet the needs of the new school year.
Currently, the province has over 24,260 cadres, teachers, lecturers and staff. Of which, preschool education has 4,026 people, primary education has 9,755 people, secondary education has 6,139 people, high school has 3,655 people, vocational education - continuing education has 144 people, college system has 336 people and university has 211 people. According to the assessment, the teaching staff basically meets the teaching requirements according to the 2018 General Education Program. However, improving professional qualifications, skills and information technology skills is still identified by the industry as a key task.

For example, recently, more than 3,000 teachers from schools in the province participated in a regular training course for managers and preschool and primary school teachers in 2025 organized by the Department of Education and Training from October 18 to November 15. This is a practical activity to improve management capacity, update knowledge and professional skills, and meet the requirements of educational innovation in the period of integration and digital transformation.
Mr. Tran Minh Luan, Principal of Tan Loi Primary School (Ho Thi Ky Commune), shared: “Currently, 100% of the school’s teachers meet the standards of qualifications. In addition to the industry’s training courses, every year, the school regularly organizes professional activities, training on innovative teaching methods, and at the same time creates conditions for teachers to update their knowledge and use technology, thereby becoming more confident in implementing the new educational program.”
Ms. Duong Thi Phong Lan, a teacher of Class 5D at the school, said: “In the past time, we have received timely attention and guidance from the education sector and the school's Board of Directors in implementing the new program. It is this support that helps teachers to be confident and proactive in innovating teaching methods. Thanks to the application of flexible teaching methods suitable for each student, many students who were previously weak or average in academic performance have now made remarkable progress.”

It can be said that the quality of education is first and foremost determined by the quality of the teaching staff. No matter how modern the facilities are or how advanced the program is, it cannot replace the role of the teacher. Therefore, Ca Mau has been implementing many synchronous policies and solutions to foster and improve the capacity and professional qualities of the teaching staff, meeting the requirements of comprehensive innovation in education and training.
Adapting to digital transformation, integrating into the future
In the context of strong international integration and digital transformation, the requirements for teachers are not only to be good at their profession but also to be flexible in thinking, proficient in technology, and creative in teaching methods. From there, the ability to self-study and self-adapt is formed for students - future citizens of the digital age.
Mr. Luong Van Xuan, Vice Principal of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Primary School (Ly Van Lam Ward), shared: "The school regularly organizes training classes to improve teachers' skills in using information technology. At the same time, it encourages teachers to innovate teaching methods to create interest and promote students' abilities."

For many teachers, the attention and investment of the Party, the State and the province is a great source of encouragement to continue to stick with and contribute to the cause of educating people. People's Teacher - Dr. Thai Van Long, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, shared: "Having devoted my whole life to the education career, I understand the hardships of teachers. I believe that if the treatment and training policies are properly taken care of, the young generation of teachers will be confident to contribute, contributing to the sustainable development of education in the province."

Building a team of dedicated and professional teachers is not only an immediate requirement but also a long-term strategy, closely linked to the province's development orientation in the new period. With synchronous solutions and high determination, the education sector of Ca Mau believes that it will complete the targets set out in the Documents of the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025-2030.
