Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard deploys forces to respond to storm Kalmaegi

Faced with the complicated developments of storm Kalmaegi, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Border Guard has proactively deployed prevention and control measures to ensure absolute safety for people and vehicles and support local people.

According to forecasts, typhoon Kalmaegi will make landfall directly in the central provinces from Da Nang to Khanh Hoa. Therefore, the provincial Border Guard has maintained 4 search and rescue stations to continuously broadcast warning information about dangerous areas, and to inform ship owners and captains to clearly understand the developments and movement of the storm, and proactively move away from dangerous areas. Border guard stations and squadrons coordinate with localities to check vulnerable areas that may be flooded or have high tides, and prepare plans to evacuate residents; at the same time, check warehouses and barracks to ensure readiness for receiving people for shelter.

The Provincial Border Guard Command has established a mobile platoon, maintaining 4 boat crews ready to carry out search and rescue missions when ordered; maintaining the communication system, ready to support rescue and handle emergency situations. Border guards urgently count boats, call on boats and fishermen on farming rafts to take shelter from the storm, to be completed before 10:00 a.m. on November 5, 2025. At the same time, be ready to support people in dangerous areas to reinforce their houses, evacuate to safe places; fully prepare materials, techniques, logistics, food, and drinking water to maintain effective response work. With a proactive and urgent spirit, agencies and units in the Provincial Border Guard maintain a 24/24 duty regime, ready for rescue situations.
